SUPERSCANPAN&FREESHIP

Got this in a Robins Kitchen email as part of an "introductory scanpan sale". There are other deals, but this one is the best saving according to RRP.
Also, free shipping on orders over $59. This deal just qualifies.

Not a bad price for a decent quality pan.

Update (Thanks Dan_)

We should have an Ozbargain competition for the most outrageous rrp- I nominate this.

    • +2

I reckon. From what I've seen robins kitchen normally sells that pan for $98. Nobody sells it higher than $125 so the RRP is a ridiculous

      • +1

        What a joke!
        I did not realise this

        • Don't get me wrong it's still a good price it's just not the 80% off they claim.

We should have an Ozbargain competition for the most outrageous rrp- I nominate this.

Knives would have to be in the running for that award, closely followed by luggage.

    • +1

haha that's not a bad idea for a contest but for a challenge how about we try to find someone who has ever paid rrp for a pot or pan :p

      • before I joined OzBargain I only ever paid RRP.

Seems very cheap, are you sure its genuine and not a grey import

    • +2

A grey import is by definition not a fake. A grey import is a product that hasn't been imported through manufacturer's official channel. A grey import is unlikely to come with an Australian warranty.

It should be acknowledged that there is a higher chance of an imported product being fake, but a grey import is not automatically fake.

  • genuine
    a grey import

Surely any item may be both?

However, with the crazy inflated RRP, and the high profit margins involved, ScanPans could well be purchased from the official AU importer/distributor and sold at these prices.

    • Kitchenware retailers like Peters of Kensington or The Basement here in Sydney normally always have huge discounts on all there products. I don't think they ever sell these at those high inflated RRP or know of anybody who actually paurchased anything at those inflated prices.

As mentioned above. Grey import products are normally genuine. Being a grey import it won't have any local guarantee from Scanpan AU. Like all grey import product if there is a problem then it must be returned to place of purchase.

Scanpan always seems to be 70% off, everywhere.

  • Looks like a good price, thanks.
    Bought one.

  • Thanks alot, just bought this !

Almost bought it a few times over the the last year when it was down to around $85 so I'm glad I held out :)

  • I would have bought it, but it says not suitable for induction cooktops.

What pans ARE suitable? I had never really noticed some weren't until I decided to look around to spend more than the $20 on one from woolies I'd previously spent (after it scratched my ceramic cooktop).

    • +1

Take a little magnet with you when shopping. If it doesn't cling to the bottom of the pan with magnetic attraction it's no good for induction.
