      • I was contemplating doing the same thing!! If I had seen this before I came home from work I probably would have got one…

  • Yeaaaaaaaaaa …. went to order and $4.95 p/h

    Thanks for playing

  • Gee. The Netgear ac1600 sounds a lot, wouldn't you be better buying a tp-link one like the archer D7

Can someone comment cos I am after something like this. What are they like.

I see parental controls need an open dns account - they aren't free now are they.

    • Asus AC66U is awesome. Very highly rated by computer enthusiasts.
AC68U is more expensive but only if you want USB3 if you don't then the USB2 on AC66U is good.

      Extremely reliable router.

      • That's just a router isn't it. Not a modem and router

        • haha yup.
I would suggest you use a modem and router configuration.

I was like many people before, who thought it is better to have a combined router/modem.

But it would soon prove to be costly when you want to upgrade to newer technologies.

Modem technologies don't change that often, where as router technologies changes a lot quicker.

Therefore you are unnecessarily paying more each time because you are buying another modem with the router each time.

I also find that modems tend to deteriorate, so around 2yrs and after, the modem starts to develop drop out issues, which then would require you to replace the entire modem/router configuration. A seperate modem would only cost you another $30-40 in this instance.

If you decide to change down the line to cable or even NBN then you can still keep the router and just plug in a modem.

        • Nah, combined is fine. I have had a Cisco for 6 years and it has never failed me. It's just a bit long in the tooth spec wise, only G wireless and I would like some parental type controls now.

  • I just ordered the Airbeatz Bluetooth Shower Speaker for $24.98 delivered.
Perfect for my disco shower parties.

  • Yeah i ordered the Brother DCP-1510 multi-function laser printer for $79 delivered. It's not listed on that freaky friday advertisement page but it's on sale today only so it must be part of the sale. I think a very good deal.

  • Just a heads up that the Logitech UE4000 headphones now have free shipping. It's been that way for a few hours now.
