It looks pretty rubbish quality anywhere I've seen it. And it's 4:3 isn't it? It seems like a rare occurrence where the difference between bluray and dvd wouldn't be noticable unless maybe they remastered it, but the visuals were insignificant to this show anyway.
I generally say DVDs are useless nowadays but in this case I can't see much difference or reason for the extra expense.
Seinfeld was shot on film. Sony remastered all the episodes for HD.
Someone posted that the amazon set was 33 discs. This on says 32. Anyone know what the extra disk is?

TBS in US broadcasted every episode in 720p 16:9 using the original film except one episode - the puerto rican day

Keep in mind you're missing a lot of the original picture when you view it in 16:9.

Yes indeed. And no. Well to make it clear the image was cropped however the viewer also sees new content on the sides of the screen.
Claiming you're missing the original is somewhat problematic in any case given that it was shot using 35mm film. Is the original the cropped broadcast or the film it was taken from?

More importantly though, the shots were composed and framed for 4:3. Even if they released the original full-frame picture that both the 4:3 and 16:9 versions were cropped from, 4:3 is how it was designed to be seen.
