I would ring Target to see if the deal is still on. Otherwise I think EB Games still have it for $279 but only in stores.
All reports say that the Basic Wii U has been discontinued. That being the case it's unlikely there'll be too many more deals on the Basic version (they finally seem to be shifting them).
For the Premium bundles its been rare for deals to fall under $350, so I guess it depends on what value you put on the extras contained within those bundles (and the extra memory contained within the console).
If you want to download more than 2 things from the store on the console, you'll need to buy an external hard drive regardless, considering wonderful 101 is 12 gigs alone. Most other titles are only 2, though.

I was told by the guy at Target that yesterday was the last day for that offer.
I went in to Target today to try and grab the deal, but it rang up as $368 instead. The Skylanders bundle is apparently $299 there now. EB said they're out of stock almost everywhere too, and they're being told to stop advertising their deal as it's been discontinued.
Yeah I just tried target at Knox and got the $299 price for the skylanders pack too. I also tried a few eb's and none had any left :(
The guy at target mentioned they might have another catalog deal coming in a few weeks.
Also, I just asked at the eb at the glen and they had none, but I had him look in the system and Knox and waverly gardens showed as having one but I called them up and they said they didn't. Guess I'm waiting until another good deal comes along ;)

Looks like it isn't too long a wait after all - the Skylanders Bundle will be on sale at Big W for $198 from the 18th of June. See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148583 for more details. Mario Kart 8 will be $58 again as well, so beats the previous bundles that were on offer, with a total cost of $256 if you buy both together.

plus side with the ipad is i can claim a bit of it on tax
And the games cost a buck each instead of 68 bucks each. The iPad does however, lack the same quality of games (I mean really, that's to be expected really so you can hardly fault it for it)
It really depends on the types of games they want to play and if they want to play multiplayer.
