  I bought this unit about 6 months ago and I don't really like it. I just expected more from a modern PVR.
  Read the reviews before purchasing as you may find it worth the extra money to get one with better features. It does record TV, just lets you down in a few areas like being able to edit tv shows (to remove ads) and only being able to record 3hrs at a time.
