Would be a much better description. As you need to make to title as informative as possible and also mark when it expires. Free delivery as well.

        What's in the box.

        • EOS 1200D Body
        • Eyecup Ef
        • Camera Cover R-F-3
        • Wide Strap EW-300D
        • Battery Charger LC-E10E
        • Power Cord
        • Battery Pack LP-E10
        • Battery Cover
        • Interface Cable IFC-130U
        • User Manual Kit
        • 18-55mm lens kit

Looks like they don't include memory card with camera so you'll have to purchase one separately if you don't already have any.
Goods price though for this camera with local AU warranty.

        • does this comes with IS Lens?

        • No. The one pictured on the DSE site is this.

          Canon Zoom Lens ED-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 III 58mm

Is it better to get the IS lens over this one without?

        • +1

go with IS lens for sure.

        • For 55mm length , IS is not so important, for bigger zoom one it is absolutely required.

        • With a slow lens like this, IS is definitely useful.

  • with promo code, price down to $401.28 :)

  • If in WA then is $399 here and includes IS lens!

    • this is a good deal. wonder if any places would price match. I know myer will just say sorry its below our cost

  • Friend paid 600$ last week for this camera, and I'm in need of a camera for Japan, this might be a winner.

    • haha this is the new 1100d, and you can get it sub $500 everywhere

  • I'm totally green to camera myself and I am asking this coz this might be my wife's secret gift. At similar price point, is it fair to say that this is one of the best first DSLR you can buy? If not, any no brainer alternative?

I've read some review on this camera and they all seem to be positive with little drawbacks.

    • Hardly the best. For entry camera I would go with a D3200 instead of this. But for its price you cant beat it.

  • what about when compared to this EOS600D for $488?

    • Comparison here

The 1200d is the base minimum entry level DSLR from Canon. The 600/700 series is the next level up. The 1200d now has the same basic specifications as the 600d (same sensor, same processor) even though its the newer model of the two. But being absolutely entry level, Canon has given it more limitations compared to 600d.

I wont be surprised if the next 1300d is a rebadged 600d!

  • This is not the best entry level DSLR IMHO. D3200 or d3300 is much better when they are on sale (about $500 or less).
