UPDATE - Seems the Amazon listing has been removed but a getting on the chat line and requesting the deal has worked. See comments in the thread.

Available again at it's equal lowest price. Reposting due to popularity and expiration of previous deal. See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/146817

Cost me A$354 to ship using the $25 discount coupon located on the product page when you do a search - under the price.

Description copied from previous deals.

The Neato is arguably the best robot vacuum along with the LG Roboking. Unlike the Roomba (aka ping pong), they plot a cleaning pattern. They do however sometimes suffer from build quality issues, but parts are readily available and there is a massive Whirlpool thread for support. Apparently a laptop charger will solve the US to AU power issue.

The Amazon cart price is US$352.88 (updated as per 9nd June 2014) including delivery and I used XE to convert to AU$

Save your money on the fast shipping as people often receive their order in a week or less - refer to previous comments in posts.

  • Good deal for those who missed out.

I'm looking for the Neato Botvac 80, anyone know where I can get a good price on one? Amazon doesn't ship it to Australia.

    • Use a forwarding company like shipto. Free postage from Amazon then pay for the forwarding service. There are calculators on their site. The only real notable difference with the botvac is the side brush. An LG roboking has one and is available locally with a 2 year warranty for about the same price as shipping a botvac.

i paid 395USD just last night from amazon, so thank you for the post!
cancelled and made new order as the support staff couldn't apply the coupon in retrospect.

    • I just did pretty much the same thing. Thanks for the post.

    • Sorry I failed to get the instruction on getting the discount code. Would anyone mind giving more details/instruction?

      • Do a search for the vac. When the search results come up, find the price of the neato. Directly under the price is a small $25 coupon - click it then follow through with the order. $25 is automatically deducted at checkout.

After talking myself out of it the last few times, I just placed the order - was hoping to get a BotVac one day, but need a robot vacuum and not spend too much money so this will do for now :)

  • This is an awesome machine, I can't think why I would need two but I am thinking about it! :)

      botvac wars?

  • Is this a good buy for a house without pets? Or are there any better ones in the same price range. Thinking of pulling the trigger after reading all the reviews.

    • Yeah - the pet angle is referring to it's 'extra toughness'. It will clean the house without the pets just as well :)
Pull the trigger - it will be worth it. These things are expensive, but I've never looked back and have had one for years.

  • Nice price but I have horrible luck with these things. My last 2 bots both needed warranty repairs.

  • I bought one of these last time. Very impressed. Works well except corners.

  • The Amazon cart price is US$352.88 (updated as per 9nd June 2014) including delivery and I used XE to convert to AU$

    Which makes it $378 AUD…

EDIT Ah, it's actually $327.88 USD after the $25 coupon. Carry on.

  • What is the warranty if you buy through amazon? - can't find anything about it on the page, and neato's only applies in north america as far as I'm aware & would be very expensive to ship back to amazon if necessary. Does anyone know?

    • If it's DOA or happens soonish I recall Amazon coming to the party. You can buy 2 for the price of one compared to Australia.

I recently bought one for $639 at Myers, which was a price match on djs, plus another 4 years extended warranty (total 5 years) for an extra $99, and then paid with PayWave 5% cashback, bringing the final cost to me down to $700, i.e. literally twice the price of Amazon on special, and i was aware of the Amazon specials the time, but we still decided to buy local from a physical store close to us.

That might seem nuts, but I've had the previous model, the xv-11, for 3 years, and in that time it has broken down 3 times. It was purchased from the USA, originally for $400, and each time we sent it back to the states for repair, it was $110 in one way postage, even when it was in warranty (neato paid the return postage). The third time we decided to buy the new one rather than repair, because it was out of warranty. The product is great, but it is a product where warranty matters.

So it might seem nuts to voluntarily pay twice the price to buy locally, and I'm a long time OzBargainer, and so deeply resistant to paying more, plus I generally think most extended warranties are a waste of money … but these are a much less reliable type of product that other white goods, and if read the whirlpool forums, you'll notice a definite trend for second time purchasers of these to buy local. Anyway, make of this what you will.

    • Did you buy from Amazon? I thought they covered postage costs?

      • No, from memory I think we bought from aimtofind, the alternative at that time was buyhappier, and at that time Amazon wasn't price competitive on this product.
From the other neato threads I've read, the impression I got was that Amazon will pay for returns in the first 30 days (refund your postage costs), and for the other 11 months of factory warranty, you pay the postage costs to the states. Please correct me if I'm wrong though. So in my case it wouldn't have made any difference (fault 1 was at 3 months, fault 2 at 6 months, and fault 3 at 2 years and 11 months).

    • That is nuts. I've had mine for 4 years and it hasn't twitched. The only thing that's starting to go now is the battery, which I will replace shortly. If I were in your situation I would have just bought a brand new one.

I do like the idea of local warranty, and I have exercised it three times in last decade (for other items) but I'd never pay such a premium to access it. For that much, I can replace the entire unit with a brand new one.

  • this or XV Signature Pro?

    • This. Same mechanicals, different colour.

      • sweet..thanks

  • or you could get the reco one from Otter Creek trading- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/137555

    • True, but more hassle. A new one has an element of risk already and a refurb increases that risk IMO.

  • wil this move from hard floors to carpeted areas? It would have to move over a small bump from one surface to the other…

  • denlife yes it does. mine goes from floorboard to carpet to over a rug.

    • thanks for the quick reply. Might grab one cheers

  • Neato XV-21 is great. However, I just updated to Botvac 80 recently. I ordered it from amazon when it's on special at US $449 and shipping though comgateway mail forwarding (US $86 with free upgrade to express and $10 discount).

Both are working well on hard floor. Botvac is a new version and Neato said it have an improvement from XV line. However, what I like for Botvac, it'a quiet and can pick up hair better. if your floor don't have a lot of hair (such as from the pet) and you dont mind the noise. Neato XV-21 maybe a good choice and you can save half. Both robots can't replace the main clearing, you may need do the main clearing every two weeks or months.

    • I am considering upgrading my XV-11 to the same BotVac model you mentioned. How are you finding the side brush? Does it get into the corners and sideskirts better than the older XV series?

      • Yes, the side brush is working better for my home. At the begging, I'm a bit worry that the side brush will tap into my side skirts because it have a little gap between floor and side skirts, but everything is working fine

  • looks like the price has increased. was just going to checkout and the price increased.

Get on the chat line and ask them to do it at the same price. This method worked a couple of days ago for the Seagate HDD bargain. Good Luck.

      • thanks for the pointer managed to get it for $299 -$25 coupon today.

  • I cant find the coupon code for the "$25 discount coupon located on the product page when you do a search - under the price." or I just don't understand can anyone help me?

    • I have spent the last 30 minutes exploring, following instructions but still no luck. May be the offer /coupon has been removed?! If not, can anyoee provide a link? Much appreciated.

    • Current one is Ships from and sold by Aim To Find. so you can't discount coupon. you can use only product that Ships from and sold by amazon

      • +1

amazon one is $339, the actual deal you want is to get it for 299 -25 coupon, which gives you $274 excluding delivery… Get onto the online chat (make a support query thingy) that's what I did and ask if you can get it for 299 before $25 coupon. They got me to purchase it at current price supply the order number then they adjusted the cost. pretty awesome customer service if you ask me. Thanks to ilikeit for pointing that out earlier.

    • It appears to have been removed. I would wait and see how long the deal takes to return. It didn't take too long to repeat, perhaps because the new has been released. The company for this deal was by Neato, Aim To Find. I suggest getting on the Amazon chat line, it worked for someone above.

      • Thanks for posting the deal (and the tip). Tried the online chat but was referred to an Used item, not an attractive deal.
Not sure if I want it for A$360+. Would any existing "owner" advise if it is still value for money?
Also, just puzzle if it "enjoys" the same return policy if the seller is a thord party other than Amazon?!

      • Note that you have to select the other sellers; look for this—>"17 new from $318.00", select the "17 new" and it will take you to a list of other sellers, look up the one sold by amazon. The Aim To Find item on the main link is not discounted ($-25) and wont deliver to Australia.

  • Thanks for the deal, manage to grab one before it went up.

  • I spent a long time on the chat line without any luck at all.

Wish the deal was still available as my mum has decided she would like one. If anyone can convince them to repeat the deal please please let me know.

NB. I already have one and it is great!

    • put an alert on the camels, it will at least tell you when it comes back down in price again

      • Would you please explain how I do this.

        Thanks Very Much!

Create Amazon price watches for: Neato XV-21 Pet & Allergy Automatic Vacuum Cleaner

just below that theres a place heading "amazon" and a place you can enter your "desired price" (in this case, you would enter $300) and you give them your email address etc, when the price drops below your desired price tehy send you an email letting you know

hope that made sense, late here and brains not powering on to well.

    • +1

I actually posted this deal after being alerted by CamelCamelCamel. I had the price alert set at $300. This was just a guestimate based on previous price drops.

The people here on OzBargain never cease to amaze me with their knowledge that they are so willing to share

  • +2
