He had a steady job, had never been in trouble in his life and adored his wife. He was a loyal and faithful husband. He didn’t abuse alcohol or drugs and he didn’t fool around. He was a respected member of society. He was a Cub Scout leader. He was president of the congregation of his local Lutheran Church. His wife was a homemaker who worked part-time as a book-keeper. In her spare time she tended the garden and sang in the church choir. They appeared to be a solid, dependable, ordinary, decent family. And they were, except for Dennis.

Dennis was a psychopath, rapist, sexual predator and serial killer. He enjoyed torturing his victims. He liked to be referred to as BTK which stands for Blind, Torture and Kill. He tortured men, women and children. Afterwards, he would tidy up and go home to his loving family and no one was any the wiser. Not even his wife of thirty four years.

Some killers like John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, Gary Ridgway, Richard Ramirez, Harold Shipman, Peter Sutcliffe, Ed Gein and Albert Fish are names you probably know well. But there are many others you may not know. What makes them different from us? Are they different?
