    The link you post to is absolutely incorrect. There is no hard and fast rule for peak power and it is not:

    "You know that peak power is 2*RMS power. If a speaker is actually capable of handling 150 watts of peak power it would only be rated to handle 75 watts RMS. "

    Totally wrong.

    I can find several random people on the internet claiming it is twice, three, four times the power.

    Wrong wrong wrong.

    There is no rule to peak values.

    For instance, your ad is for a speaker that appears to use three times the RMS value.

    It used to be common for crappy little desktop computer speakers to have 2000W PMPO on and those things could realistically handle less about 3W RMS.

    This is the only rule for peak power you will ever need:

    Peak = RMS x (How I feel this morning) x (0-10 rating of this mornings turd)
