Imation 4GB Atom Flash Drive for $30 at Harris Tech, after price match at OW = $28.50

12

Got mine today for my car audio after price match at OW for $28.50. OW was selling for $35. I know there are really cheap ones in MSY or even Kmart, but this is still a bargain IMO due to its size and speed. Here's the receipt/photo.

There are also 2GB and 8GB.

    Sorry mate. Not a bargain.
You can get these for just over $20.
There are plenty of other 4GB sticks for around the $20 mark as well.

where can i get them for just over $20? I'm thinking of getting another one of these :/

If you can get a 4GB memory stick for $14 why would you pay $28? Doesn't seem like a bargain despite the brand?

as i've said in the post, speed and size.

I got a Soniq one from JBHiFi for under $20 (not on special). It's at least as small as this one, if not smaller and fast enough for me - not sure if there's some independent way to benchmark these things so I can't say it's faster, but it is lightening fast!

I don't know, but I still think this is a bargain for what it is. If people start comparing this to different brands/models then doesn't that defeat the purpose of this site? People should stop comparing this with the $10 ones out there - go to dealextreme for those stuff.

These devices are NOT your usual USB stick, so you can't compare them to a $10 one you bought at the local markets…

Yes, they are a good brand, but that's not what makes them special.
Yes, they are relatively fast, but that's not what makes them special.

What makes them special is that they are tiny! So Tiny in fact that they you can actually mount them inside most computers - even if 1 RU cases when the motherboard has a USB slot on it (I know - because that's what I do!)

There are very few other USB flash keys which compare to these - Sony make ones that are small, but do not have a full USB socket so they are less likely to hold in firmly.

I buy these in bulk in the US for about US$15 each, which is a little less than this, but for local stock it's a fair price.

    • Cheers for the clarification. I'm getting these flash drives to keep it plugged in my new car which will play mp3s from the flash drive. Then again, I wish I had gotten the 8GB ones instead after realising 4GB is JUST enough for most of my tracks. lol.
