Thats a "twist turn" drive. Not a JumpDrive
Besides the physical design, what is the difference between a TwistTurn and a JumpDrive? Does anyone know?
One of them can jump
And twisty is also only 8GB, although I picked up a 16GB model at Big W Tweed Heads for $8 ten days ago. It's the Lexar Jumpdrive Twist Turn available in various colours.
usb2 or 3?
Here's Lexar's USB Flash Drive page — note that all the USB 3.0 drives are clearly stated, but no mention with JumpDrive V10. So I guess it's USB2 only.
Does USB3 matter for a drive like this? USB2 can transfer at more than 30Mbytes per second, which is a lot faster than the write speed of almost all USB flash drives.
You might be able to read from the drive faster if it is USB3, but what needs a sustained read speed higher than 30Mbytes per second? Other than backing up the entire USB stick to HDD, will there ever be a noticeable slowdown caused by the USB2 interface?
If the read and write speeds of the drive were something insanely high, then I'd be considering USB3. This particular drive tops out at 10MB/sec on write and 19MB/sec on read, it's never going to max out a USB2 connection.

I got a twin pack at KMart for $16. They're actually pretty good.
Edit: Yes USB 2.0And put a blue cap on it to make it look like usb 3
Thanks mate. Picked a couple up.
Keep in mind the USB 2 V USB 3 is not as Black & White as you might think. Cheap/badly specced USB 3 drives can perform worse/slower than some good USB 2 thumb drives. As they say, Oils ain't Oils :-)
Cheaper at Big W from Thursday 29th. Only $9. See catalogue Page 13. https://www.bigw.com.au/offer/catalogue#view=catalogue2&sale…
