  • doh didn't realize it wasn't full HD. still not to bad for sanyo.

The deal is "meh", come to think about it, there are other places that have comparative prices.

    • yeah i thought that as well but this is a sanyo which is heaps better than conia. was going to remove my +, but kept it for the brand sake.

This is not a 'real' Sanyo TV. It's just a generic Chinese TV rebadged with the Sanyo logo. Sanyo for all purposes does not exist any more in Australia, save for the name.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Conia and Sanyo shared the same internals and same UI as so many 'generic' TVs do these days.

Still, I'd prefer to buy form DSE even if it is a little cheaper online - they have a 14 day change of mind policy so if you find out the TV is terrible you can take it back for a full refund.

        • Just like the 'Vivo' branded units at DSE are just LG units with different bezels and different on screen menus. The UI is easy to change so why pay an extra $200 for a unit that is essentially the same product. It's like paying extra to drive a holden apollo instead of a toyota carolla because "it's got a better brand on it".

DSE have that many good policies, its hard to shop anywhere else. Like cyssero says, 14 days and you can take it straight back - no questions asked. The other thing is that if you find a better price in the same period, they will refund the difference if you ask.

removed my plus for false advertising: this is not an HD TV

    • +3

yes it is, its just not FULL HD, HD is 1080i or 720p which this TV is. still does HD TV, just not native bluetooth at full res.

      • +2

        I think you mean Bluray.

        • yes, yes i did mean bluray. thanks :)

      • Advertiser semantics: 1080i compatible is not the same thing - just like usb 2 compatible is not the same thing as usb 2 when the device can only perform at usb 1.1 speeds!

    • lol @ the people who scream false advertising without having the slightest clue what it means.

No native bluetooth. What a bogus TV! :P

      LOL

        Harhar

        • yeah yeah bluray. :P

Not really a good deal. (As a side note to be considered 'HD' in Australia it must be capable of 480p, compared to the Americans who require 576i I think)

    • +1

HD in Australia is 720, full HD is 1080
