    I reckon Energizer are hoping punters will forget the PS3 is perfectly capable of charging controllers & other USB devices.
    (of course the PS3 needs to be turned on to do so)

      I have one sixaxis and a dual shock 4, can't charge and play at the same time since it's too far away. This is a great solution for me. Plus charge my pebble on the 2nd USB port

    Not really. I have the problem of only having one controller and to charge it I have to connect it to my PS3 while im using it to watch/play. With this I could just charge my controller any time. I dont want to dish out $50-60 for a spare controller so this would be a good solution.

      My PS3 turns itself off after an hour or two. After a session of terrorising Los Santos, I plug the controller in and leave it recharging until the PS3 auto powers off.

  XBox 360 chargers are the same price. I bought one a while back since my play and charge cable cacked itself, seemed to work exactly as expected, although it does plug directly into the powerpoint. It is pretty cheap since it has the battery pack as well.

  Includes a USB to charge a second controller or Bluetooth headset.

  Translation: Also has a standard USB port to charge other devices.

  Can't see much need for a single (PS3) charger, but it is a good price.

  Not a bad deal… though, my current charger which docks two controllers (bought from HN) is still kicking. Just as well, the PS3 version is sold out now.

  Agree that the geniuses at Sony should have gotten the USB ports to allow charging of the controllers when the PS3 is off. Was very annoying having to leave it on in order to charge.
