Wii U Pro Controller - $49 Online @ Target. (White Only) (Click & Collect Available)

110

Just saw on Target's website the Wii U Pro Controller for $49 (Presumably in store as well, since click and collect is available).

Cheapest I've seen locally for a while since the EB clearance sale, with next cheapest $64.98 at JB as far as i know. I've heard good things about the controller as far as ergonomics and battery life go. A necessity for me with Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros on their way especially.

This is for white only, black still appears to be $69.

Delivery is +$9 if under $75, otherwise free. Or of course you can use Click and Collect to have it sent to a store near you if they don't have stock and pick it up to sidestep the delivery charge.

Doesn't appear to be a sale, but regular price from now on.

My local store didn't have stock as they seem to not necessarily be ordering more in for the time being.

Some other good Wii U deals posted previously in case you missed them at Target:

Scribblenauts Unlimited - $19
Darksiders 2 - $15
Assassins Creed 3 - $19

  • Yep its in store as well.

  • Just a heads up, the cheapest Black controllers are $58 at Big W (its always been that price, same for white).

    • Oh okay, was unaware as was comparing online prices, if this is the case, better than JB for black controllers, cheers.

  • Its weird that black isn't the same price, sucks since I'd prefer black since my gamepad is white and its already quite dirty.

  • Harvey Norman Boardway had both white and black wii u pro controllers for this price for a while.i'm not sure if they sold out yet. This was months ago.

  • Visited Chatswood EB on Monday they have black or white for $49. Didn't ask how long they would have it for that price.

  • Not meaning to take away from the original deal, as I know this is a different product but just thought I'd post this up as an alternative.

I recently picked up one of these from Ebay and it seems to be quite good quality, especially for under $20 delivered. Perfect for people (like me) who are just looking for some extra controllers for couch multiplayer when friends come over. I'm going to buy a couple more now, just bought 1 to start with to make sure they were alright.

    • I haven't had great experiences in the past with generic controllers, so I generally stayed away. But I haven't tried that brand and it could be good for those who just want a few extra controllers as an economical alternative.

Also just since I heard such good things about the Nintendo controller, it's all i've had my mind set on :p

Thanks for the info though, people need controllers either way.

      • Yeah I know what you mean, its funny I wouldn't touch a generic controller for my PS4, but the Wii U, it doesn't bother me. I think its just the different style of gaming plus I probably do 80+% of my gaming on the PS4 compared to the Wii U, I guess that's a factor too.

  • I got one from Beat the Bomb for $36.40 shipped a couple of weeks ago.

  • Have never held a pro controller. How comfortable is it to have sticks above button and d-pad instead of below? It's looking like the face buttons will cramp my hands if I also have to have my index finger on the R trigger. I've experienced this with handhelds.

    • Very comfortable.

  • Purchased one at target last week for this price. Great controller. Can be used in nearly every game with recent updates to Wii U. Ignore the reviews you see the compatibility is now very good

    • Had some games previously not been compatible with the Pro controller, as stated on the game case? But now are after updates? Would be good news for me! As long as nothing is taken away from the game by not using the gamepad, i'll probably usually be reaching for the Pro controller.

      *edit - spelling

    • Games not requiring the tablet kind of make the Wii U irrelevant..

      • +1

Not really, the Wii U is a huge step up in graphics compared to the Wii. And lets be honest, the biggest change between console generations is updated graphics. I view the Gamepad simply as a bonus to an already good console, and Nintendo games have always been something different. I'm enjoying my Wii U a hell of a lot more than my PS4 atm, and I will probably continue to enjoy the Wii U more than other consoles with Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros 4 coming soon!

      • I see your point, but I didn't buy the Wii U for/or because of the gamepad.

However, it would be good if it was utilised more with games, not just for the sake of it, but for interesting gameplay idea's.

        • The gamepad is what separates the console from another PS3 or 360 (but has a far smaller library of games). It can't achieve parity with the latest consoles.

      • The main reason I bought the Wii u was the step away from motion controls back to gamepad play. I never bought the mainly because I hate motion controls. I could take or leave the tablet part, though it is cool for off tv play sitting in bed or whatever.

For me the Wii U is always going to be a secondary console to my PS4 but its still nice to have for those times where you feel like playing the more laid back games Nintendo offers, rather than the battlefields and the like.
