Kingston V300 SSD 120GB $73, 240GB $129 at MSY (+ Shipping or Pick up)

100

Apparently these aren't the greatest SSDs but at this price it could be a way to upgrade an old PC for a relatively cheap price. The 240gb can be ordered from Amazon for $118 if you don't care about getting local stock.

120gb
240gb

Calculated at $12.48 shipping for me to TAS, so might only be worthwhile if you are near a store.

  • What are the decent/value SSD's going round at the moment?

  • Crucial M500, this deal is expired but you get similar prices on sale few times a month

    • I purchased one of these from Amazon. DOA. Had to wait a few weeks to get a refund. I think I'll stick with Samsung in future.

You don't want this drive, Kingston is being shifty, don't support them.http://www.overclock.net/t/1457629/psa-about-the-kingston-v300-ssd-probable-foul-play-by-kingston

Basically they moved from OK nand to really cheap, nasty nand. So I wouldn't buy this, the m500 would be a much better buy

  • I bought one of those Crucial M500 240GB SSD a long with a Silverstone 3.5" SSD bracket and Sata 3 data cable from Amazon all for about $140 delivered during the recent deal. Kingston is not as good.

Just one if the many new vs old tests on the down fall of this v300.
Some tests the new one is half the performance of the old.

Kingston drop the ball.. It should have been cheaper, that new chipset powered kingmax at 139 was a better buy.

It is the cheapest on the market however, if it was on sale like that on amazon.
They will have to sell them fast as the name I stained towards those educated users.

  • Far better off waiting for the deals that pop up on the Samsung Evo's if you didn't need one right now.

  • Not worth it at all…

Spend your hard earned cash on an M500 or Evo. You'll thank yourself for doing so.
