  • Got a popup saying "Hello Ozbargainer" when the page fully loaded. They've got professionals working on tracking links now…

Just waiting for the $5 off coupon now.
Edit: Purchased. Thanks for posting the deal.

  • HN website pretty much clearing off all WD hardrives. Any reason for this? new generation coming or no more WD harddrives? I noticed local Officeworks didnt have any WD HD as well..

    • Duck smith doesn't have wd either, any more.

  • Thanks OP! Great Deal :)

  • Can anyone comment on the reliability of these drives?

      Very Reliable.

May have a soldered USB header like many Western Digital portable drives. This makes it difficult to re-use as an internal disk or diagnose if the enclosure itself fails.

      • +2

        They definitely do.

2.5" WD HDDs have had soldered USB connectors since around 2012.

  • Looks like this deal(exclude shipping) is good..

WD 1.5tb my passport or Seagate 1.5tb expansion portable $85 + $4.95 shipping from markedeals.

  • I hate the bloatware that comes with the My Passport drives - I find the Elements range better.

Yeah true but right click and quick format is not hard. It's not as if you can't remove those preinstalled files.

      • But there is still something in the firmware and I can never get rid of all their stuff. Reformatted as fat32 aNd there was still something on the drive. Returned and got an elementso drive.

        elements are much better.

        • Fat32 on 1.5TB hard drive? I haven't used fat32 for a very long time…

Market Deals seem to be very dodgy according to previous OZB experiences.

  • I was hoping to see the WD Passport 2TB for around $120 but it's still high at $156. The other sizes are good value.

  • Thank you, got one.. it seems to be quite easy to return with HN if there is any issue with the drive

I missed out on the Big W deal, just to save $3 from OW price match..

    • What was the big w deal

  • -4
  • Wanted to price match at officeworks/jb hi-fi because it's a lot easier for me to drop in there on the way to/from uni. Unfortunately the fairy meadow OW one has no passport in stock at all and jb hi-fi doesn't have the 1tb :/
So my logic is, if I buy two or three, that's like paying 50% or 33% for the shipping \o/

  • No 2TB? Damn, I guess I will go with this

  • Just picked one up for $93 - many thanks OP!
