  • good price considering the 10400mAh was $35.90 on eBay for local Australian stock.

  • +10

    Nope. Not a deal. http://www.ebay.com/itm/13000mAh-Portable-Romoss-Charger-Pow…

YOUR normal price is $99. Whereas the actual normal price for this power bank is around ~$45

Grossly inflating the "normal price". That's borderline lying.

Ebay one is $45 US, not AUD. How do we know if the ebay one is real?
PS: Looking at buying one, but after seeing all these reports of fakes…

    • +2

That price is in usd and it's shipped from hk. If it's competitive against eBay prices, plus Australian stock with warranty, and I can walk into their store to pick it up, I would consider it a bargain.

    • wait this guide only talks about the packaging? although I do find it suspicious that every Romoss so far has the LED indicator in the image, yet it mentions it doesn't include it in the actual product

      • +2

        Look at #6 in nosdan's picture…

        • Look at #6 in nosdan's picture…

oh yea sorry i didnt check when i linked it and thought i was only linking to number 6. tho i did think it was a little obvious seein i did say "there stock image" and thats the only image they have on there site, obviously im not just talking about the packaging but the actual brick?

        • yeh i somehow missed #6, my bad

    • +1

Learning everyday. From that image I learned batteries comes with 4-cores CPU these days.

  • I've ordered a $24 version of this from from eBay, and it was a fake. Hopeless. Only charges my phone 1.5 times. If this is a genuine product, $45 is a good price.

  • Nothing against Scorptec, but these were recommended by a friend, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Anker-2nd-Gen-Astro3-12000mAh-Ext…

They do look nice, but again take a look at their battery cell they use and also the technology/features.
The reason we distribute this Romoss brand is because of their technology and quality. We didnt want to touch their Solo series because of cheaper quality battery and low performance. Sailing 1-4 have LED power indicator but also has LED Torch light, Sailing 5 dont have the LED torch light.

Can OP confirm that these are genuine Samsung powered, not knockoffs, and in stock ion Oz. If so I'll order one. Thanks

    • Wouldn't think Scorptec would sell dodgy stuff.

    • +1

I would trust scorptec to sell genuine

      • +3

I would be the same, however a lot of people trusted Target when they were selling MAC cosmetics which turned out to be fake. So you never know.

These units do have the Samsung High capacity cell inside and they are all in stock in Australia:
      http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Power_&_Chargers/Power_Ba…

You can pick up at one of our four stores in Melbourne or we can ship out for free directly for you.

      • Thank you.

    • They are indeed Samsung battery cells, they're not the same as the 'Sense' or 'Solo' or all the other brands that dont mention what battery cells they use. Take a look at their features/technologies to be certain you're not just paying it because there are those that are cheap but slow and dont last long at all.

  • Scorptec - Sailing 5?

At least it is a genuine product listed on the Romoss Web site

    http://romoss.com/external-battery/sailing-series/sailing5.p…

Anybody who bought a Sense bought a fake, there is no such product as a Romoss Sense…

    • these hyperlinks are confusing as they have "sense" in them, yet on the site they are called "solo"

      http://www.romoss.com/sense3.php

      • +1

The Solo series is not the same as Sailing series. The battery inside Sailing is Samsung Cell, the one inside Solo is a cheaper Chinese made and takes longer to charge and dont last as long.
For example Sailing 5 takes 8.5 hour to fully charge, Solo 5 takes 13 hours to charge. None of the Solo series have fast charging, Sailing 3,4,5 have the technology to fast charge and do support concurrent charging which is very unique. You can charge the device whilst the battery is also being charged. (Daisy chain). The other important note is all Sailing products are MFI certified so it'll be Apple compatible.

I suggest you do a search in your favourite search engine (or any internet search engine for that matter). That topic has been covered to death and some.

    • +1

do you want to buy fake Louis Vuitton when someone sell you 60% off of the genuine one's price?? selling fake is lying, either it's working well or not. that's the point of honesty in business and life. I know some won't give a shite, as long as they make profit.
ps: not saying that op is a liar.

  • +1

Scorptec will not sell fake i think. if the supplier cheated them, they will refund and apologies

  • +1

Thanks for the deal scorptec i just bought one to try against my yooboo

Wicked! I have a 5500mAh version and it's pretty awesome. I love it that it's light in comparison to my metal casing Ebay knockoff.

    I just bought the 13000mAh.

  • How many cycles are the batteries rated at?

    • 500 times - 3 years.

  • Rep: I need this by friday next week. If I order now will I receive it on time?

    • +1

Friday is Anzac day, and the Easter long weekend just started. If they ship it Tuesday afternoon, Thursday will be tight depending on where you are, I doubt you will get it in time. There got quite a few locations in Melbourne, thats probably your best bet.

    • As Friday next week is Anzac day, you have to receive it by Thursday, which is still ok if you are in Melbourne, we will ship it out on Tuesday using local courier, it will get to you within 24 hours.
But if you are in any other capital cities, most likely will be 2-3 days, depending on the courier or Australia Post. Regional areas may take a bit longer.

Our Romoss power bank products are indeed the genuine ones (we source direct from manufacturer and we are an authorised distributor) and our stocks are retail products not the ones you find in the market with only brown box packaging. We simply dont sell fakes. The ones you can find selling really cheap everywhere, just beware that you get what you pay for. Romoss sure have a lot of competitors selling similar product and a lot of their online sellers arent even in Australia, they can be selling on Ebay very cheaply, but these people can not offer you the peace of mind guarantee that we offer and they do not support the Australian jobs and economy.

Our warranty on this brand is 12 months with "instant brand new replacement" if there should ever be any need for a warranty replacement. Failure rate is very very low on our product because its made for retail channel and not for those online only market like Ebay who tends to gets away with selling poor quality to customers who may not want to be bothered doing any warranty claims if it fails. We will accept returns in any of our stores, otherwise send the faulty product at your cost to us (or we will reimburse your shipping if you send it within 30 days doa period), then we will send you a brand new replacement at our cost. This is our customer guarantee.

We are giving you guys this special pricing as a nice Easter special, only few hundred units are authorised at this price so please enjoy whilst it last. Happy Easter!

    • a lot of their online sellers arent even in Australia

worth mentioning that you can not send lipo batteries back overseas (for warranty etc) they can only be roadfreighted around the country, so anyone buying from overseas are buying them without warranty where as if your buy from an aus seller you can still send them back if needed.

not to even mention the massive problem with fakes and overstated power values from some online/overseas sellers.

  • Claims to be Australian stock @ AU$35.99 delivered:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RED-10400mAh-Romoss-External-Batt…
Images suggest it's genuine. Although I can't find anything official about the red colour…

    • I don't have a lot of experience with Ebay fakes but … vendors selling fake items can't put images of genuine products up?

      • They're not allowed to. But that won't stop them…

        • The thing is, everyone can claim that they are selling genuine products and IF they are discovered, they can chalk it up to supplier issues and refund. It's all just a matter of how trustworthy a retailer is.

Marking the price up to $99 and saying its the normal price? Not too nice of them.

        • Marking the price up to $99 and saying its the normal price? Not too nice of them.

          source?

your comment about an ebay item from asia being comparable is ridiculous. its almost guaranteed to be non genuine. can you show me a genuine seller who sells this normally so cheap?

        • If you don't think Scorptec is "trustworthy", then who is? Seriously, if physical stores aint good enough, have a search on Whirlpool.

Besides, even if your ebay seller is genuine, its still a grey import with no warrenty.
