Personally I do not recommend Tune Hotels

What's your experience of them? Serious question, never tried them so curious that's all.

    • Ive used Tune in downtown KL,Damansara,Penang,Kuta and Legian, Johor Bharu. Ive just got in and my dates are available for this price. Happy to anwer questions after I have booked for myself.

    • He doesn't recommend them because any potential dates you pickup won't want to go into that cheap ass hotel with you lol

      • Yup. Beware of Green Possums :o)

    • I am a light sleeper, and, for me, the passage ways are barren and noisy, and lifts have recorded voices that echo around when doors open. Walls are thin. Some have the noisy & cheap 'in-wall' airconditioners. But they are immaculate. Note to the unwary, they have drip pricing similar to AirAsia, but I don't mind that. EG, pay extra for; towel, aircond, TV. etc. I suggest that you search for feedbacks on 'Tripadvisor' for any hotels that you are interested in.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Par for the course. Fortunately I'm a seasoned traveller and can even sleep on noisy trains.

  • The problem of this hotel is air con comes extra.. As much as 16 for 12 hours and 36… Other full package ones are 80 to 90Inclued double bed, complete with wifi.

Good luck sleeping with the heat on a fan in tropical areas.

      24 hours credit is 22 MYR = $7.30 AUD.

Credit doesn't expire, it is only used when you want to use it. Since you probably won't be in your hotel room during the day, you might use 12 hours credit every night.

So air con could cost $7.30 every two days, which for me is acceptable.

    • air con is essential in malaysia
the inside rooms might be less noisy
have not tried this hotel but I paid RM$100 per night at another one in 2011!

  • I've stayed in the Melbourne Tune - sure its probably a lot different than Asia's Tunes but it was clean, comfortable and cheap. Cheaper than a hotel near the CBD but a lot better than staying in a backpacker's/hostel/sleeping in a park.

Recently stayed at Kuala Lumpur LCCT tune and the rooms were fine if you just need a bed and its 2minutes via shuttle to lcct. Wouldn't stay at this particular one again as it was very noisy lots of outside machinery and having the fire alarm go off 3 times in 2 hours didn't help lol

    • At least the alarm (work) … somewhat.

Kuala Lumpur LCCT rooms are tiny with not even a chair in them because there isn't even room for a chair . Very clean but as said by others absolutely everything else is extra . Plenty of eats close by and a great spot to stay for an overnight stopover and your not interested in going into KL if you've been before and are not a fan .

      • ^ This. Been so many times now with my parents (due to cheap AirAsia deals from Perth, very affordable), that now I only bother seeking out good cheap food and doing some shopping around the Times Square area. Tune Downtown KL is a perfect base for that.

This is worth the price in KL. Tune downtown KL-single room for AU$7. A single room in a KL guesthouse you may not get for under $20, and a double room may be approx $25. Checked Phuket for my dates and $23 is over the top. I'll keep the hotel i have booked for here near the airport with A/C pool for $24. Kuta and Legian for my dates were AU$7 for a single. Not bad for a short stay-I could never do long term Tune again. I booked my night of arrival (late flight from KL) and then move onto another choice of hotel with prices ranging from $12-16 with pool and AC. So, cheapie hotels do exist in Bali in certain areas-Legian/Tuban. Tune Hotel have realised that they are being outdone in Bali due to the new hotels popping up. Any price over $10 for tune in Bali is not worth it, you can do way better.
Give Tune Damansara a wide berth, so far out of KL and I stayed there within 6 months of opening and it was crap- a crap conversion to a hotel of what would have been industrial building. In peak hour (ha-its always peak hour in KL) public transport can take 1 hour plus. Good if your driving though, plenty of parking and KL is all expressways.
