General InformationAvent Breast Pump Isis is designed to help you breast feed longer. Mothers today often have to combine breast feeding with other activities and responsibilities. They may also want to involve their partners or other family members in feeding the new baby. For this reason, AVENT developed the revolutionary ISIS Breast Pump. ISIS allows you to express and store your milk, so that your baby can still enjoy it, even if you are not there to give the feed yourself. Remember, you should not begin to express your milk until your breast feeding routine is well established. This normally means at least 3-4 weeks after delivery, unless told otherwise by your doctor or breast feeding adviser. The revolutionary ISIS breast pump - as natural as your baby. The ISIS pump naturally imitates the way your baby breast feeds. Inside the funnel of the pump is a soft silicone cover with five petal sections. As you pump, the petals flex in and out, gently massaging the area around the nipple and stimulating the let down reflex - painlessly and naturally. Because it feels so natural, just a few gentle strokes on the handle will soon set your milk flowing. With the help of one of the AVENT ISIS Breast Pumps you can express your milk quickly and comfortably into AVENT Feeding Bottles or pre-sterilised VIA Cups for storage in the fridge or freezer. That way someone else can give the occasional feed, and if you go back to work, your baby can still benefit from your breast milk.

Sorry, but its not me negging you.
Woolworths are selling there manual breast pump for $7.50 the last time I checked, they don't look very good but they are better than nothing :)
I thought if was for a pump manual.
Go for auto pumps.
With overdrive
Got to agree go for a good quality auto pump, one that can also use batteries if the need arises.
Depends what you want it for. If it's for regular use I'd fully agree, but some require a pump for very occasional use - in that instance these manual ones might be fine.
Breast feeding mothers should try to avoid packaged ready meals, new mattress and sofas and cleaning products as chemicals from these products could find their ways into their milk.
You forgot to out the "Dr" in your username.
I still love common sense though. We've become an overly sensitive, overprotective society.
I can probably explain some of these points:
Plastic film of prepackaged microwave meals leech into food and BPA can interfere with a babies development after passing through breast milk.
Cleaning products could have any sort of harsh chemicals in them, you would need to know the one to comment, just use vinegar it's cheap, natural and cleans anything.
Not sure about the new furniture but scotch gard uses ptfe or pfoa from memory, and so sitting on a piece of furniture for a long time can allow the chemical to again enter a person's body which can be passed on through breast milk and potentially cause developmental issues.
I am not a doctor, but you don't really need to be know something, although a bit of explanation and context does go a long way. However I could be completely wrong :-)
context is good, but context with proper facts and no FUD would be better.
1) there are items that are BPA/PTFE/PFOA free.
2) for a start read this: http://www.hpa.org.uk/webc/hpawebfile/hpaweb_c/1246260032207
Just get yourself a Medella Swing. Forget about these manual pumps, just rubbish.
This pump was ok, but not bpa free. Unless they have changed it since, I would not use again because of that.
Stella you aren't having a baby are you?
I think she already has one. Maybe she's having another one. Congrats if you are Stella:)
If she is about to have one, it would explain her recent interest in hedge trimmers
You do need to be careful what you get. But in saying that, diff pumps for diff needs…I'd recommend medela freestyle if you're going to be using a lot, and a medela swing if only occasionally..steer away from tomy tippee.
We used medela swing full time. Still works perfectly and will use for the next bub. Finicky cleaning though.
P.s. cheap and nasty can cause a lot more damage than they're worth so no its not better than nothing!!
