For those who recently registered for the Amex/Good Guys promotion, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 16Gb 4g (GT_N5120ZWAXSA) can be purchased for $498 and then $50 will be credited by Amex (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138773) and $50 by Samsung up to April 30. Alexandria store in Syd has stock but many other stores do not hold stock as the Note is on clearance. The Amex/Good Guys offer is available for in-store purchases only and you must have registered from your Amex profile.
Alternatively, you can purchase online and get your $50 cashback only from Samsung.

No - their starting price is $549 for the same model and Kogan is $389 for grey import with 12 mth warranty and extra for delivery
You're thinking of the wifi version. The 3G is more.
The 4G is even more.
Can this be used as a phone?
I guess so which you might consider either this or the Xperia Ultra for $399. Does anyone know which has better specs other than 1 is 8" the other is 6.5"?
Xperia ZU is much better spec wise and you get 4G. You'll be buying this for the resolution, active pen and 8" screen.
This Samsung tablet is also 4G.
yes, works as a phone.
Do office-works price match clearance items like this?
Officeworks dont sell the 4G version.
They do sell the 4G version, check it out

Plus the TGG is selling the wifi only for $299 too, which would be good to price match for those that missed out on the Bing Lee $248 deal, IF the accept it on clearance deals
The 4G one is not stock in store, you have to order it online from officeworks if you want it.
or over the phone?
What is the $25 store credit about? Dont see it on TGG web site.
Woops - it expired at midnight. I have edited the post to remove this.

Probably grey market stock so warranty is not from Samsung and cash back may not apply. Would be interesting to know about cash back on imported stock.
Does bing lee still have them for $250?
