Not bad if not for the fact that some Atheists seem to treat Richard Dawkins like their god… kinda contradictory. If you take that out of the equation, and approach the documentary with no previous context of whom he is, it is very interesting, and that's coming from a Catholic (Albeit extremely liberal).
On a side note, I can't believe he's 73. I thought he was around 20 years younger!
I've never read any of his books or seen anything else that he has made, just this one documentary so I certainly don't see him as my god nor should anyone.

Your recommendation is good. This free documentary plus the God Delusion / The Root of Evil? helps people see two sides of the coin and they can then make up their own minds. I'm all for it =)

I initially posted a link to the ABC shop for the DVD but then it occurred to me that it might be on youtube and bingo, there it is for free so anyone that wants to see it can. Downloaded it, weighs in at 351MB.
It was originally a two part documentary but now looks like it has been re-released as a single film and retitled to what Part 1 was called, that being "The God Delusion" and now has a new intro from Dawkins.

Even though it looks nothing like it, I still read the title as 'The Evil Dead DVD 100% free' and almost upvoted it.
Again I am going to neg this deal, not because I am anti-religious, but because I am anti people or groups making claims which have been shown to be demonstrably and repeatedly false and because those claims have been shown to have clear negative consequences to some individuals.
In this case the Seventh Day Adventist group has a long history of making several very specific claims based upon their interpretation of the bible about coming 'end of the world' events. In each case these claims have encouraged believers to sell all their possessions, break ties with family and friends, and in other ways destroy their lives in preparation for these events which have obviously never come true. Then this group retcons their failures, first spinning them to mitigate their failings and then trying to hide them altogether.
Were this a pyramid investment scam or a quack medical cure we would not tolerate it on this site but for some reason we give religious quackery a pass. It does not deserve respect just because it is based on an old book and nor should we give any deference until their claims have been reliably demonstrated.
