Probably the best headphones you can get for ~$100 if you're after a bassy warm sound.
Just Google for reviews and comments on head-fi, these have a pretty good following.
Includes mic but you may need a splitter if you want to use it with a PC.

Did anyone else misread 2 headphones?
Not recognising the model number hardly seems reason enough to downvote…
Bought these yesterday for $105.95 thanks to you @bentan77 (via Whirlpool) :)
ue 6000 or this? and suggestions?
Depends on what you prefer:
UE6000: Has active noise cancelling function. Also the inline controls dont always work with Android or other phones. Some have also reported hissing but improved bass when the NC is on. I think also comes with a 2 year warranty to a local store.
Aurvana: Has passive NC. Inline controls work with Android phones as well. 1 year warranty that you probably have to ship back (not sure at who's expense) to Singapore.
For me, the better sound quality, inline remote and mic compatibility with Android and passive NC was more important than the features that UE6000 offered.
Cheers!
"passive noise cancellation" is a misnomer…CAL2 has passive noise reduction/attenuation (sound isolation). so does the UE6000 - in fact, as far as i'm aware, the passive isolation (without using the active noise cancellation) is better on the UE6000…so i probably wouldn't say passive noise reduction is a selling point for the CAL.
better sound quality: well, i haven't tried the CAL, but from what i remember reading previously i think that's arguable. from memory, UE6000 has better bass and detail than the CAL2, but with more rolled off highs. which is better is a matter of preference. (i personally prefer bass and rolled off highs.)
both headphones seem to be pretty well regarded, so you probably won't go too far wrong with either one. (check out for yourself tho…i'm going from memory from when i previously looked into these headphones, amongst others).
Thanks for the comments. Do you need battery for it to work?
i dont think i will be using the NC featureIn the UE6000 you will need a battery (or two I think) for the Active NC feature to work. Cant remember though, Google is your friend :)
Yup UE 6000 comes with 2 AAA batts to enable active NC.
no worries.
yeah, as the others have said, you need 2xAAA batteries for active NC, but they work in passive mode without batteries.
i actually prefer the UE6000/UE9000 in passive mode, but with a bass boost amp (i use Digizoid ZO2 or Fiio E17), so never actually use the NC.
Do you guys think it's worth while getting a sound card with these? I notice that the Omni Surround 5.1 card is cheaper on umart ($89) so it would be better than buying that bundle.
I'm also curious about how well the inline mic would perform for gaming. I'm assuming these would be significantly better than their gaming headsets for the same sort of price though does anyone know?
Time to smash through a few reviews. For better sound quality, I suggest FiiO E07 DAC. It's a digital-to-analog converter through USB. The problem with soundcard is it's connected to the noisy motherboard.
Or just get a pair of USB headphones.
USB headphones often have very poor quality conversion
I just picked up the UE 6000 yesterday, I returned the Sol republic master tracks that were on clearance at OW for the same price, it was horribly muddy, lacked clarity and even worse for gaming (soundstage sucked for me as the bass overpowered anything else i could hear) and pinched my ears to no end, didn't understand when others said it was the most comfy headset they'd ever had.
The UE 6000 is much comfier and solidly built, folds compact for portability and as I prefer something with a bit of bass, I don't mind the active NC as it seems to amp it a little and give it more punch. I agree with someone else's comments that it could do with an in-between turning on NC and having it off, it seems to be quite a sharp difference. Will look into a Fiio E17 later…
Only thing I'm missing is wanting a mic with the UE 6000 for gaming. The aurvana has a split cable right? How does that work and is it possible to use something like that for the UE 6000? Something like the zalman clip-on mic or v-moda boompro mic?
I'm also wondering the same thing. I'm even considering getting a webcam with a mic built in like one of my friends although I don't know how a $6.17 Chinese product will perform :P

Aurvana doesn't use a split cable for mic/sound, you'll need to buy a splitter separately (ebay or electonic/computer stores are cheapest)
Cable is detachable - the headphone side the connector is 2.5mm for some reason so it won't fit the boompro.
You already have the UE6000 so I'd just get a separate mic like the zalman or if you want a more headset type mic there's the Antlion modmic.yeah, i recommend getting a bass-boosting amp (i use Digizoid ZO2 or Fiio E17), and using in passive mode. the in-built NC/amp is a nifty feature to have as a backup, but i prefer to use the UE6000 in passive mode with a better, dedicated amp. that will give you more control over the sound.
v-moda boompro should work fine with UE6000 (it's a standard 3.5mm socket on the UE6000 itself…it's the plug at other end of the cable that can have issues, depending on the TRRS layout of the cable vs your source. and you can get an adapter to fix this, i have one from meelectronics.). been meaning to pick a boompro up myself.
This deal is still on. There is free shipping on orders over $130, so I just purchased two for A$179.91. Thanks.
I hesitated in buying these when this was on - decided recently I want these headphones - trust them to be out-of-stock, with no other places coming even close to this price.
Normally priced at $199 so a real bargain.
*If you what the splitter for PC gaming it will cost you A$13.95
