  Antivirus or protection software is not popular for Iphone (unmodified in anyway) because it is quite difficult to attack? Not to say that it is 100% secure.

    Totally agree with that. Compared to IOS, Android is much more vulnerable to malware.

      I've been on Android phones for the last 4 years, starting with the Galaxy S1 running Android 2.1 and now on a Nexus 5 running 4.4.2. I must be doing something wrong as I visit a lot of dodgy sites on my phone but havent been attacked once. My mother, brother and partner all have Android devices on various versions of Android, and we have an Android tablet, all with no antivirus, yet still no attack after all these years. Perhaps this is just peddling a long held myth, or perhaps Im one of the lucky ones?

  Clueful from BitDefender has always been free from them and is a terrific app to see what installed apps require permission wise.

  But from a mobile security/remote recover and wipe, I still reckon Cerberus is the best app to get.
  Buy it once, and no ongoing 'subscription fees'. Hidden install option (only way to access it is via dialing a code into the keypad, otherwise you wouldnt even know its there).

  And no need for ongoing resubscription rates for an "internet security package" like this if you update your phone's browser on a regular basis. Chrome and Android are always updated… if they didnt they'd shoot themselves in the foot.
