Last time I registered for the "$50 cashback on $250 spent at DJ" from AMEX. Monitored the website for over a month, and not once did I come across something worth buying even with $50 cashback.
The promo price for nespresso coffee machines WERE not bad after stacking the Amex promo. But that is just DJ.
I bought a gift card.
Then I got them to price match Bing Lee's Kenwood Toaster for $48 (Bing charged $5 shipping which DJ did not).
With the second purchase I bought an Inissia machine. In hindsight I wish I hadn't. A day later Good Guys did an amazing 30% off sale on their ebay store which I didn't end up buying anything from.
I haven't been to a DJ store since its electronic department is powered by DS. When you buy electronic stuff in DJ using your registered AMEX card, does your receipt issued by DJ or DS? If DJ, you should entitle to the $50 cashback when your spend is at least $250. If DS, then you don't entitle to it.
An Easy solution, just buy a DJ gift card to qualify the $50 credit Amex promo and use it at elec dep powered by DS.
Wait what? Is there another AMEX DJ cashback deal I'm not aware of?

Sucessfully bought the Bose QC15 around mid day. Yep I know it's a Bose (overpriced & underperforming) but I like it a lot, the noise cancelling is unbeatable.
I cannot find a single item that is not overpriced.
