Connoisseur Ice cream 1L $4.49, Woolies milk 2L $0.99 Woolworths Indooroopilly Qld

190

Went to Indooroopilly to check out the new coles, nothing special so I headed to Woolies and found a few rare specials not in their catalogues. Not sure when it ends and whether it is in other stores. Maybe they are trying to compete with the new Coles.

  • Connoisseur 1L Ice Cream (lots of stock and flavours) $4.49 (1/2 price)
  • Woolworths Select Whole Milk 2L $0.99 (1/2 price)
  • Triple Smoked Leg Ham $9.99/kg (1/2 price)

Included a docket for proof. A few specials I don't see too often so thought I share.

What kind of name is Indooroopilly? It's not April 1st anymore.

nice suburb in Brisbane near the river. Had to check the spelling twice. Quite a mouthful.

      Wooloomooloo!

You bought Cookies and cream. Nice choice!

    Is this nationwide?

  • Do they still have those indents on milk bottles so you can freeze them?

  • +1

Don't think this is nationwide. Checked on site and display as 7 dollars.

These are Indooroopilly only specials, to entice people to use their new store which is now inconveniently located (previously conveniently located) with the extension of the centre. The car parking near the supermarket is also ridiculously rabbit warren like as they shoehorn a major extension on top of a centre which was originally opened in 1970.

So you can have decent car parking and walk a mile to Woolies or rubbish car parking nearer, but is still surprisingly far away, with multiple levels of steps and little travellators. Plus they have in the last week closed off one entrance to the carpark which means that if you park near the supermarket you have to wind your way up multiple levels, take a sharp left and take a blind leap of faith trying to get out onto one of the major roads of Brisbane, accelerating from 0-60 in the time left between small gaps of traffic.

As a bonus to give Woolies bosses more incentive to crack open the Home Brand pain killers, Coles last week opened their store almost right next to Woolies, but at a slightly more convenient location to better car parking. The new Coles is themed around lots of little village areas, where you can buy and eat a pizza in store, the staff are always yelling out "free bread" like a street vendor and the trolleys have inbuilt cup holders for the inshore coffee you can buy.

That is why Indooroopilly Woolies is having its own specials every week. If you change the location on the Woolies page to postcode 4068, you can see what they are. And they are good. It's hard to resist, even though I think I think the store is a feng shui death trap and the parking is from one of Dante's levels of hell.

stop whining about the location, my grandma has to walk 10 minutes from woolies to home.

      • Up hill in both directions in the snow?

        • there is never snow in Indooroopilly, I don't know which other Indooroopilly you go to.

    • Are you kidding me mate? The new Coles is literally 50m from where the Woolies is. They both use the same car park, where you have to go up TWO travelators to get to BOTH stores. You've absolutely lost the plot.

I think you misread what he's written.. He's not saying they use different carparks, just that the carpark has changed since the reno's.

Wagyu sirloin steak is also half price. Down to $25/kg

  • Sara Lee ice-cream is nicer; I had the strawberries and cream last night (we usually have connoisseur) and oh boy, I almost came!

    • +1

No it's not. I tried the Sara Lee cookies and cream, and compared to the Connoisseur, it was watered down and I couldn't finish the container.

      • +1

But have you had the strawberries and cream?!

        • Once bitten, twice shy.

          tl;dr No.

      • The Saled Caramel was pretty awesome too. Reeeallly creamy

    • +1

      So strawberries and double cream?

  • I need my local Woolies to price match!

    • You could build a Coles next door.

      • +2

Or an Aldi. A new one has opened up at Kenmore (Brisbane) next to Woolies. Suddenly fruit and veg prices at Woolies have gone down dramatically. I wonder what happened?

  • Does Coles next door price beat it by 5%?

    • That would be heavily exploited by ozbargainers

  • $0.50L Milk!
