Something for anyone who has grabbed a Sony NEX or A7 in the recent bargains. I've been hunting for a good prime for a while and this has been just under 1k until now. Appears to be a great price for this outstanding lens.

Nice, but I'd probably be more tempted by the 50mm (http://www.digitalrev.com/product/sony-carl-zeiss-sonnar-t/M…) as it's faster and in the DXO ratings (http://www.dxomark.com/Lenses/Ratings) it's only beaten by the Otus lenses, whilst the 35mm gets a resounding 'meh'. Always treat these reviews with a dose of salt (they could always get a bad unit) but also in my old school full frame (film) life 35mm was never quite wide enough - 24 to 28mm seemed just about right. Having said all that, rumor is (http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/category/rumors/) that some new full frame E mount lenses are due to be announced in the next month or so - personally I'm hanging out for a decent portrait length prime (80 to 120mm).
