Mechpro 140A Arc Welder $39 at Repco

80

This appears to be identical to the Ozito 140 amp welder from Bunnings valued at $98 (without the mask or brush)
http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-140amp-fan-cooled-arc-welde…

Also appears to be the same model as this one from eBay.

For $39 I this is a bargain.

Also I have been waiting since last year for the Repco spanners to be on sale again, normal price is $157, with 40% off it brings it down to $89.
They have a over the counter lifetime warranty with no questions asked at any Repco Australia wide.

  • 50cents cheaper than last time:

  • Still trying to flog these off lol

  • +2

A welder isn't like a cordless drill - you can't go cheap and expect to still get the job done without a hell of a lot of frustration. Get a mig welder instead.

    • this is some sound advice from rt1.. buy high quality tools, & only buy them once.

    • I used to own a decent entry level mig, unimig 210 or 240 (the full size unit), unfortunately had to sell it as the boc gas bottle rental nearly sent me broke, spent more on bottle rental than the welder cost and only used it a few times a year. I do miss having a welder for those odd jobs though, so I think I'll get one just to see how bad it really is.

      • pls report back, I'd be interested to hear, cheers

      • unfortunately had to sell it as the boc gas bottle rental nearly sent me broke

ever heard of gasless mig wire? isnt quite as pretty or easy to use as gas but still gets the job done without needing to be robbed by the gas bottle companies…..

  • Could be a very cheap power supply for other things? Electrolysis anyone?

  • Just the thing to repair my battle-scarred Timber Wolf.

  • 8am first day of the sale I ring up and apparently none in Brisbane, only Kippa Ring have some.

Is it even legal to advertise these big sales discounts and then have 0 stock allocated, seems like bait just to get you in the store?

    • Not really as they have stock on the way and are happy for you to order now for a pickup when in stock. They do insist on payment now though to lock in the same price. I ordered mine today at Indro store 9am today without fuss.

      • I asked sbout ordering in. They told me no as its a clearance line and once gone are all gone.

Probably for the better as I found a old cig arc on gumtree for 50 bucks.
