compared to today's COTD, this one is better, not sure how long the deal would last. Be quick.

  • To be fair, the 1000HE (COTD) is not the same as 1000HA (mwave)

    Differences being:

    1000HA has no Wireless N (only b/g)
    No bluetooth built in
Keyboard is not as nice as the HE (in my opinion anyway)

Still.. it is cheaper so if you don't need those things mentioned above, buy it.

I bought one of the first Atom processor EEEPC's when they launched a while back (901) and it has been a very useful computer indeed.

    • You are quite right. didn't noticed that. thanks for the correction.
btw, 1000HA is N280 and 1000HE is N270, are they both 1.6G cpu, any difference?

      • Just a correction there @sohomel

        1000HE has N280
        1000HA uses N270

        1.6GHz vs 1.66GHz
        So the difference is negligible

        • it seems like 1000HA with N280 (mware's website) and 1000HE with N270 (COTD's webiste), confusing me

          • @sohomel: Yeah me too…
Regardless the difference is so small so shouldn't be a deciding factor for someone wanting 'the fastest processor'

The Atoms are good at what they do, low power draw. Designed specifically for netbooks.

I've also read the LCD screen in the 1000HA uses regular CCFL backlight technology instead of newer (better) LED backlight technology. LED backlight should result in deeper blacks, more even lighting (less bleeding) and ultimately more battery life.

So at $580 plus shipping (say $15) - $595, for an extra $24 you get a better screen, Bluetooth, Wireless-N, better keyboard and quite a bit longer battery life. Seems like $24 well spent to me!

The n280 also has a faster FSB (667mhz, vs. 533 on the n270), which also makes a slight difference. Overall performance difference between the two would be maybe 5% (so yeah, negligible is the word!)

As has already been mentioned, probably the biggest decider(HE v HA) is the battery life.

It also has the lesser 48Wh battery as opposed to the 1000HE's 62Wh battery.

  • How about putting some detail in your deal's title.

  • Spec as below

Might point out a useful website for anyone looking at these EEEPC's.

Checkout eeeuser.com, community eeepc website with discussion forums. Lots of good info.

Keep in mind the AA0 D250, which is thinner/ligher. If purchase an ebay 6/9-cell will still be ahead.
