New Air Asia Bali Sale… booked my seats last weekend! Doh!

Booking Period : 24 March 2014 - 30 March 2014
Travel Period : 1 April 2014 - 23 September 2014
Travel Notes:
- Advanced booking required.
- Fares are not available during embargo period.

A couple of tips to secure your seat at the above price:
1. Save $10 on your return sector by booking each sector separately rather than a return flight. Air Asia appears to charge more in AUD for the return sector than if you were booking a one-way DPS-PER in IDR
• DPS-PER as a return sector AUD 59.00
• DPS-PER as a one-way sector IDR 564,000 = AUD 49.47 (if charged to 28 Degrees or equiv. no fee c/card)
2. Beware Air Asia's baggage charges when arranging the Price Beat Guarantee:
• Jetstar CSR tried to tell me Air Asia's baggage charges were taxes and charges. Stuck to my guns and finally got her to realise it was baggage that had inflated the fare, not taxes.
3. It's worth using the Price Beat Guarantee, not just for the 10% discount over the Air Asia fare, but also for the 10kg carry-on allowance out of Perth!

  • But isn't it normal to have 10-kg allowance? How do you book Jetstar on price beat guarantee? Do you have to call them or email them? Email will take ages to get response lol

    • I believe most people do it over the phone. Never done it myself.

    • Air Asia's carry-on allowance is 7kg. You need to call Jetstar to use the PriceBeat guarantee. They'll verify the competitor's fare while you're on the line before they do the price matched booking.
