The 2009 MCG Rite of Passage marks the fifth year since the commencement of this much loved and eagerly anticipated event.
Rite of Passage was introduced in 2005 as an annual event on the MCG calendar in order to encourage parents/guardians to bring their children to the ground for the first time and to provide older generations an opportunity to introduce and share the MCG experience with younger generations.
Since its inception, more than 3200 children have enjoyed a kick on the ground with their parents/guardians and been introduced to what it was like back when Mum and Dad came to the football.
The 550 children along with their parent or guardian will receive the 2009 MCG Rite of Passage Offer, which includes:
- A free child-sized Coca-Cola football.
- Free children’s general admission entry into the MCG with the purchase of an adult ticket (child must be under 15 years of age at July 11, 2009).
- Opportunity to have a kick-to-kick on the ground prior to the game.
- Fantastic MCG showbag.
- The chance to meet some AFL players and team mascots.
- Access to a reserved seating area to watch the Richmond v Carlton match.
- Registration will open at 9.00am on Thursday June 11.
- Register your details.
- The first 550 children registered will receive the offer.
