I have two of these USB tuners. I use them under Ubuntu Linux on my desktop and find them very stable.
Im not sure whether your netbook has linux, but if it does Im sure that you'll find the atom CPU wont be a problem. Recording from TV under linux takes practically zero CPU, and playback should take about 20% if the video drivers are setup correctly.
On the other hand if you use Windows XP I'm not sure whether the atom CPU would cope.
i hope so, coz id buy it for a netbook.
does it come with a portable antenna?

errrgh ….
fyi there is some local forum discussion of this product (at least for Vista & Windows 7): http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/tuners-vista/26183… and likely many other forums.
I'd look at the response locally before hitting the order button as I've not used one before and am not fond of junk.
see answer to aerial question, above. :)
MSY might have some better USB HDTV's than this. Has anyone checked?
Naah couldnt be bothered checking. Takes too long to get out there only to be told its out of stock. If youre not in a hurry its really convenient to have it delivered if it doesnt cost too much more.
MSY North Melb told me don't bother buying any USB tuners due to poor reception all over Melb. Doesn't matter whether cheapeast to most expensive tuner, you'll need to hook it to a big ass external antenna, which defeats the purpose of a usb tuner anyway…
anyone with this experience?
is this a HD tuner?
I got the e-mail today and wondered the same thing myself.
As nothing in the description/spec's mentions SD or HD, I'd put my money on it being SD.

On http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/tuners-vista/26183… , the OP says "All SD and HD services were detected in MCE and Vista shell environments".
On the linked page: 'RRP 79.95; Was $39.95, now $29.95 + $6.95 shipping'.
Will in work on an Atom netbook CPU? Anyone using it as such? A nice netbook pvr bargain!
