  • wow that's def a deal. Is it twin-share?
    either way, still good deal.

    • +1

Prices are per person, based on double occupancy at hotel and lowest available airfare, inclusive of taxes and fees.

      • +8

so have to share with a random if going yourself? lol

        • +2

What if you book that flight+package with expedia and then book a separate flight with airasia for your other passenger, and thus saving the second passenger's cost of accommodation?

"…flights alone are $450 on Air Asia website for the selected dates."

  • grrr. just booked trip to KL last week. Paid over $1300 for flights and hotel for 5 days for 2 in April. it was 5 star tho, so thats probably the price difference.

  • +4

an impressive price if you want an F1 weekend away for the Malaysian GP

  • -2

When I clicked into book now it leads me to a different date 1 may -4 May and prices go up to $759 per person… Anyone else has the same problem? When I changed the date prices were $822. Not sure why!

  • +1

I tried the site and it seems you have to play around with the dates to find the good prices. Also it doesn't seem mandatory to stay at least 3 nights, but it would be rushed to just stay a couple of days.

I suppose if you find a deal that's cheaper than just the airfare, you could leave a token piece of baggage in the lousy hotel's room and then go check in at the better hotel down the road you were going to use anyway. :)

A great deal, but I wouldn't stay in KL if you paid me. I hate KL with a passion, the people are rude, and its boring as shit.

None the less, would be good to go to KL then hop to another country, but with a price like that, I think your ticket will be canceled at short notice..

I lived there for 5 years and being Malaysian that's really sad to hear you had that experience. I can tell you there is a lot to Malaysia, however KL like most capital cities is just another big city.
Food is awesome and from my experience the local's if you meet any are generally well natured.

      • Only been there once but found the people very friendly, helpful. Loved the atmosphere & most of all the shopping @ the markets along with great food. Like any country you visit don't expect it to be the same as home - adapt your attitude to life there, accept their culture & way of life - it's obviously different to your own. As anywhere you travel our stance is always to be polite, friendly & treat every person the same as we do at home - with respect. This way we have never had any problems , Anywhere - in fact people go out of their way to advise on how us, the tourists can gain the most enjoyment from their country.

I lived in Malaysia for 3 years and I agree with you. Beautiful place but people are rude. I do not want visit that place again.

    • +2

Been to KL a tonne of times. Rude people … good food… Stupid traffic… Lots of thieves, pickpockets, snatching etc going on. Crime is rampant over there unfortunately.

      • -2

Honestly, I do not feel much safer in Australian cities. Australian cities are more orderly than KL, giving the impression of safety. KL is haphazard!

    • IMO, best food in the world…..
Really sad about the crime rate.

      • -2

China, HK, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan has them beat imo and that's just Asia.

We take it for granted but Sydney is really one the best food cities in the world. The range of good food you can get here is astounding. Don't let New Yorkers tell you otherwise, but we actually have better Asian food than NY.

    • Just spent 2 weeks there over Christmas. Loved it and will be going back asap.

Awesome food and great shopping and lovely people.

      • +1

I love KL. Hell, I love Malaysia. The diversity and the tolerance of most people I dealt with is great.

  • +4

There are hotels in that list which are HEAPS better than the one for $403 all inc., I'd suggest paying a bit more as the reviews for the above hotel aren't great, especially considering recent thefts…

Overall a great find OP !

  • +1

Is it possible with Expedia to book different flight and hotel dates in a package? Eg. You book only 3 nights accommodation, but your return flight is 7 days later. Then you can sort out the remaining accommodation separately.

EDIT: Think I figured it out. There's a "I only need a hotel for part of my trip" checkbox

    • +2

I have found this to be a 'hack' of sorts with expedia…. booked flights on Expedia, chose a 2 star hotel for 1 night, and the OVERALL COST of the trip goes down as expedia must regard it as a 'package'.
ie. flights + 1 night hotel < flights alone.
Ignored the hotel booked in package and stayed elsewhere.
      YMMV

Great find OP. Got 4 nights in 5 star hotel (Doubletree by Hilton) + flights over Easter for $530 each.

    • +2

Sorry, but I thought Easter is in April? when the promo only applies for stays around march and may? and I thought the promo restricted it to only 3 nights? What dates did you put in?

      • try yourself. It did work for April when I tried

    • mate i cant work it out. help me out ?

      • Dates I used were 19/4 - 23/4, flying from Perth

    • That is a smashing price..! Best iam getting is 700ish for simmilar dates…but my return is a week n a half later..(hotel for 3 days only)

  • EDITED

  • +4

Love KL, what you save in airfare you can spend on food and shopping. Yipeee!

  • If you don't want to stay in KL, you could just book a return flight ex KL separately. Eg. KUL/BKK/KUL

  • I am confused. WHen the hotel is included, the cost jumps up to around 800 bucks. Sorry , when I read this I thought , the whole deal is 400 odd dollars. WHich to be frank seemed too good to be true.

  • hi guys

i was very interested but similar to @misguided

    I got the price AU$749/person…

But at first, it did say $4XX per person.

Anyone else with this issue or am I not doing something right?

    • Have you checked your date? Different hotel will come up with different pricing as well. The quoted price for $4xx is based on 3 nigths.

  • Got Hilton 5 days inc flights $543!!! Freaking awesome

    • how is that possible when the deal only runs for a maximum of 3 nights?

      • Like others said mate it works. Just play around with dates.

  • For those of you who comfirmed the booking already, did you figured out the baggage allowance. It says baggage included but doesn't specify how many though.

    • Yep it's 20kg and $9 more for 30kg

      • On my itinerary it says 15kg checked baggage included. I would urge everyone to double check this. Last thing u to be happening is paying extra for checked baggage on such a great deal.
        Happy Flyin all :)

  • The flights+hotel prices on airasia.com are cheaper than expedia's, just realised after booking with expedia, $75 cheaper! Expedia has only for a price match policy for 24hrs after booking, that sucks.

    • tried booking it through the airasiago website and failed twice with errors(but money taken out of bank). Called them three times. Just told me to email them. AirasiaGo number disconnected. Useless

    • For those who booked with airasiago, it does not come with checked baggage! please check!

  • does anyone know what other fees are attached to buying these tickets like the fuel surcharges?

    • Everything is included, apart from seat selection location and food

  • +2

Everyone, once you have done your booking through Expedia. Make an account in airasia, then call airasia to link your booking to that new account. It took me in total 3 minutes. Once done that, you can modify your booking to add meals, more baggage allowance and seat selection.

    • Thanks for this tip !!

Called AirAsia - to update my Expedia KL trip - rotten call centre service - it would be 'nice' to have someone whom is more fluent with English serving - with my call she rattled on about something, some date, ended up asking her several times what she was on about or to put me onto someone with better English.

Ended up linking the flight purchased from Expedia to the AirAsia account - that at least gives you visibility on seats and extras.

4 nights in KL at the Impiana Club twin room for about $690 each - incl breakfast buffet, wifi and high tea each evening (free drinks !!) - can't complain about that !!

  • This is still valid if anyone wants to book!!
I booked before 2nd March and now the price has dropped even more…Feeling cheated!!

    • Just wondering what dates did you happen to check and what price was it?
      Thanks

      • Hi..sorry for late reply. I checked for 19th April departure 4th may return…with 3 nights stay. Paid about $526p/p and it went as low as $446 p/p for same dates same hotel..
Has now gone up to around $750…
Driving factor is the airasia flight on 19th April.
