24

Hi Guys,

Just got an email from Fishpond for the Playstation 4 console which is only $539, this is $10.95 off the retail price of $549.95. Delivery is on the 21st of February and is free Australia wide. Dicksmith had it for $498 at one stage delivered.

It includes the following:

PlayStation 4 console
500GB Hard disk drive
Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller
Mono headset
AC power cord
HDMI cable
USB cable

As this is just the console you will need to purchase PS4 games separately, here is a link to help you find where the cheapest places are to purchase them:

  • Dick Smith had it for $498 (free shipping as well), so not a great price but still $10 off other stores.

Pretty good though if they are truthful about the 21st February shipping date.

Also 10% off $599 would be $533 wouldn't it? lol

    • DS price was actually $493.20, not $498. They had it for sale for this price at least twice now…

  • Thought RRP is 549.95 ?

  • RRP is $549, dunno where they're getting $599 from. Xbox One is $599RRP

hmmm i probably wouldnt get a ps4 off fishpond.

  • What dojes, tryin to rip us off.

  • when does those big retail going to have some real stocks in the store?

  • my post would have been this: what's the point on discounting what is a highly in demand product? I don't understand either DSE or this.

if you can get one? Order it.

There is no way this would arrive from fishpond by the 21st let alone in under 6 weeks. Maybe dispatched on 21st and a saving of $10 is not worth the risk to deal with an international warranty on a first gen console.

    No deal

Would downvote this 'deal' if I could.
Price would have to be < 400 to be worth risking Fishpong.

      • If it were <$400 now, would anyone seriously expect it to be true?

  • PS4 has a good starting retail price, considering that the PS3 was way over $600 at launch.

The system will come in two bundles — a PS3 with a 20GB hard drive (confirmed RRP of AU$829) and one with a 60GB HDD (confirmed RRP of AU$999).

      LOL

      • yeah and the cheaper one sold out.

  • harvey norman would beat this on a cash price sad to say

  • Thanks guys I have edited the post with your comments, why would fishpond list it as $599 RRP that's so misleading..

    • I think what blurs the issue here about RRP is that in NZ a ps4 sets your back $649, but since fishpond and mightyape can confuse people into thinking their australian stores you just over think things

They're $529 at Kmart if they have stock

From past experience and also feedback from the fellow ozbarganians a $10 saving is not worth the hassle of dealing with these guys… it can get very painful… last i saw JB Hifi (Sydney CBD westfield for eg) had stores with stock save the hassle n pay 10 more imo :)

    • I might risk $10 with Fishpond but $539…. not a chance in hell. Nothing is worth that saving.

fishpond is weak. this sale is weak. not worth $10 saving and a lifetime of hassle.
    no office OP

  • Pretty sure this console will be getting shipped from Fishpond's warehouse in New Zealand like every thing else from them does. Fishpond has absolutely no presence in Australia unlike what you may think by them having a .com.au domain. You won't be getting Australian warranty on this.

Less than 2% discount… No deal.

  • $10 saving? Not worth the effort… plenty of other ways to get it cheaper than that (discount gift cards, etc)
