Just browsing their site, came across this the SL300, where the High end spec is CHEAPER than the basic spec! but i dont think it has switchable graphics (only discrete), but please correct me if i'm wrong. Another two caveats are - cpu is 65nm 2ghz, not latest. Also dvd writer is 4wk delay, with only way around being upspeccing to blueray for a 350$ premium or so.

Notebookreview pinned battery life at 4hr19min with 6cell, short of the 6hrs of t400. otherwise a good laptop.

Also many other good deals with EOFY sale + cash off coupons on the site.

  • To get $1207 you need to

    • Add Integrated fingerprint reader (useless?)
    • Change to "Intel WiFi Link 5100"
    • Change to "6 cell Li-Ion Battery"

Because it was $1,099 unconfigured. Nice find though!

  • This spec doesn't worth $1k2, 2 years ago maybe I'll buy it. But today, you can get a better laptop with that price range.

Spec wise yes, quality wise no. Lenovo are very solid and well built machines a large majority of owners would back that up, Acer however is…well Acer they are junk. I had the misfortune of working for a goverment department for the last 9 years as a systems admin that used Acer equipment and they are rubbish, anyone the says differant has just been lucky.

          • @WhiteEvo6: Some of us have been lucky many times over.

Lenovo used to make great laptops, but they're middle-tier these days.

          • @WhiteEvo6: If Acer sucks, then I have no idea why they are claiming top spot in the laptop market. And really have no idea why my uni, Swinburne, decided to equip the whole campus with Acer desktops…
And for myself, I have no idea why the 3 laptops we have been running for a couple of years flawlessly…

and ah, its 15.6inch. hardly portable

  • usually, the price for the seconde or "mainstream" configuration will be higher than the first one, so i think it is possible ~
