  • Thanks Mate I was about buy from woollies.

I've been buying these for years from Bunnings.

      30 AA Alkalines for $8.98

      Great quality. Made in Germany.

      • +3

I buy them too, jv and they're excellent, but they are NOT made in Germany.
Made in China for many, many years. The Bunnings listing is false.

Explain the labelling on the packet then ????

        • +3

The labelling is made in Germany.

Give me a few minutes, jv, and I'll try and find both a battery and some packaging at this end.

        • +1

I just checked, some really old ones i have lying around are made in China, and the 9V made in Malaysia. All my new AA and AAA are Made in Germany…

        • +1

Also, according to the Varta website, their AA, AAA, C and D are all Made in Germany.

First up, I haven't been negging you.
Have been buying more Eneloops than Vartas in last year or two, and last batch of thirty bought must be well more than a year old now. Have found packaging in the garage and will upload photo if you wish. China.

Manufacturing has obviously gone from Germany, to China, and now back to Germany.
          Let's both agree that that's bizarre…
          Apologies.

Maybe the Australian car industry will one day return from Japan and Thailand…

Oh, and teeth may one day return to Collingwood supporters' mouths…

          Ok, that's going too far…

          Apologies x 2.

        • I'm a Collingwood supporter and have all my teeth thank you! :-P

That remind me, really need to get my wisdom teeth out. Maybe I can donate them?

        • +1

Yes! Remember though, you're a Collingwood supporter AND an OzBargainer.

Submit teeth for Tooth Fairy cash redemption, set a trap, retrieve teeth, donate.

        • I like the way you think!

Haven't tried them, but I fairly sure from some of the bulk packaging I've seen that the Utilitech batteries come off the same production line as the BigW Chevrons and the Eclipse batteries Jaycar (used to) sell - which means they'll perfectly fine, but not stellar in performance.

  • Had some bad experiences with these- leaked and ruined several items.

    • Second that. Dicksmith has them. Mine leaked too. Ones I had were made in HongKong

  • I can only chose AAA from the dropdown

    • There is only AAA left, op explained this

      • Hmm I can't select AA either.

  • Is there sometime I'm missing for free shipping. I seem to be getting charged $10 for delivery.
