Aren't these deals easy to get? Once they get your credit card and email they hound you for more?

    • +1

I could only find 1 month recently so I think this is good

    • 14 days is norm now, but sometimes 1 month. I had a 6 week one previously (over a year ago now). Easily cancelled on line, no probs, and no hounding. Been hoping they may have offered me another free month or something, but nothing!

Does not take you long to go thru the catalogue on offer..

And most of the HBO content is pay per episode, which is a bit sad..

Very limited range offered.. When you compare it to what is offered to overseas customers for simular services it makes you want to cry…

As far as the deal 2 months is a great way to see for yourself…

  • How does this compare to netflicks which costs about $20 per month?

    • no comparison.
quickflix is very limited you will be done with quickflix offering within the 2 months trial.
but irs free so i posted lol

btw why are you paying so much for netflix?
i pay 9 a month for netflix and 3 dollars for 3 dollars a month for getflix to unblock it and other sites aswell.

      • How do you get netflix in Australia? Any advice?

        • +2

          first thing is get getflix
its a DNS service which allows you onto netflix website without getting the message thats it has come to your part of the world yet.
          https://www.getflix.com.au/
sign up for the trial and follow the instruction on how to set it up.

after this is done go to netflix and sign up
you will have to use an emerican post code. any american post code will do i used 90210
then enter your card details and your s3et no money will come out till after trial.
if some does like in my case it will get returned in a day.
          till trial ends.

        • Thanks. Sounds simple. Cheers.

    • Netflix is $9 AUD a month or $8 USD a month.

When I started the process of registering for the free trial they wanted my credit card detaits. Reason they need to know I am over 18

THIS IS THE REAL REASON copied and pasted from the terms and conditions

) If you become a paying subscriber of a Subscription Package after a free trial or promotional offer, a once-off Subscription Package Joining Fee (as listed on the Pricing & Packages Webpage) will be charged at the beginning of your first payment cycle. If you do not cancel your free trial or promotional offer within the free trial or promotional period, you will be billed your first subscription fee at the end of your free trial or promotional offer for the subscription fees for the relevant Subscription Package.

    • i thought everyone new they all do this.
netflix Hulu quickflix all of them.

  • You just have to be real careful you don't select any of the pay per view titles. All that's included for free in the trial is the older ones (which can only be streamed). You won't get anything much newer than about 10 years for free and you'll go through the free streamed titles in no time, the back catalogue is very limited.

You also can't view the pay per view titles on the PS3 or Sony Bluray players, so they make it a good way to 'safely' browse the trial content. They also make the an ongoing subscription pretty pointless, for much the same reason.

    • You can get new titles mailed out as DVD/Bluray. Not as convenient as streaming, but usually sent in 1-2 days, and if you've got a list of movies you want to see, they keep sending them out, so you'll have something to watch.

  • Quickflix is a rip off, get Netflix with the free Mediahint extension for Chrome.

    • Also available as a free add-on for Firefox:

      https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/media-hint/

I have tested this and you can access the sign up page of Netflix and so avoid the 'not in the USA' page.

      Note:
No guarantee that it streams successfully or from all sources as this aspect has not been tried.

For those that just want a disc to put in the bluray player in the lounge room (and not stuff about with Netflix and interwebz settings), this is still a good deal.

Not everyone wants to stream stuff online. That's why video stores and places like Quickflix are still going strong…. because its easy.

2 months free is a good deal, thanks for posting OP.

I'm already with them, but I looked high and low when signing up and I couldnt find anything longer than 1 month.

  • The advantage of Quickflix (for me anyway) is that I can watch it directly on my TV, which includes Quickflix and Big Pond movies (I suspect Panasonic Australia have a deal with both of them). That may be the case for others with smart TVs from the larger manufacturers.
Netflix may not be so simple - I'm sure in the US the smart TVs have apps for Netflix. But here, we'd probably need to connect the PC to the TV, but that's not really that difficult. I'll be looking around but does anybody know if you can add apps to the Panasonic for Netflix?

    • You can use a $50 Chromecast for netflix if you want to watch it on your TV.

A chromecast is like a small dongle that plugs into your HDMI port.

    • not really sure
if you have a playstation 3 or 4
you can get the app really easily.
thats how i play on my tv

  • Apple tv is an option too. Then there's those android tv sticks.

  • I took out a two months free DVD via mail subscription with Quickflix from the 24/01/2016 to 24/03/2016. I received DVD's for the first month, then they stopped. My account was showing Restart Subscription. I have sent them four email enquiries and have had no reply. Anybody else having the same problem with Quickflix. Should I complain to Fair Trading… as to me it is bait advertising.
