[STEAM PC/MAC] Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare @ GetGames $4.99USD

170

This game never goes this cheap. Well not quite true. It did a few days ago but they ran out of keys. Now back in stock.

For an older game it still has a very large following for multiplayer.

EDIT:
Key gives you a MAC and PC copy. All Steamplay games work this way. Those who suggest it doesn't are incorrect. Source confirming this. There are plenty of other sources out there. I have bought many Steamplay games marked MAC. They all work on PC

do you want us to email you the answers so you don't even have to spend effort opening this page, too?

Will this work for pc? Because on the website it says mac and I can't find anything about pc.

      • -2

I didn't think it would, this post is just confusing then. Thanks for the reply tho.

Post is not confusing. People providing incorrect answers certainly is. It works on PC too

I didn't know it was my job to stay here and wait for your questions.

It's Steam play which means you can play it on Mac and PC. Those who say its Mac only are completely wrong

  • it was $5 a few months ago from stacksocial —> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/122167

Well there you go. I stand corrected. Still this game hardly ever receives any decent discount. If anyones interested in this game I wouldn't hold out for a better deal. It's unlikely to ever happen. COD series never seem to get any heavy discount. Even during the sales.

Isn't the online MP full of hackers these days?

    • I would like to know this too.

    • I used to be a COD4 regular on games.on.net COD4 servers. Aimbot hackers overran it when the admins got bored with actioning the hacker demos. Usually, we send those evidence, those duds get banned, but not anymore. Admins just didn't wanna do their job anymore.

This continued for months and now the node servers are ghost towns - all empty.
As far as I know online life for this game is dead. There is one AK hardcore mix server still populated, but the rest are overseas.

Reading this post is making me shake my head. This is an amazing deal, I was one of the lucky ones to get a key from StackSocial (I'm first comment on that deal). I don't understand all the hate, you can easily Google 'Steam Play'. This is a +1.

On the GetGames page, the full price is listed as $20. On Steam it is $50. ANGRY. Thanks for sharing this deal.
The key activates fine on Windows Steam, but I haven't downloaded it yet.

    • Steam price on COD games have always been B.S. , far too high.

I've had this game for years, and I do miss the good old days of playing it online.

If there's enough OzBargain support, we should get some private games going.
That way we're not playing with hackers/glitchers, which the game is now full of.

Funny part is the graphics look identical to Ghosts.

    • COD4 had uncapped framerate and change-able FOV. On release Ghosts did not have these, and probably still don't!

In all effect Ghosts is just an updated MW3, which I got for $10 and every evening can still find a several populated 6v6 TDM servers to play in.

  • great price, thanks OP

  • This deal is over now.

Out of interest, did anyone have trouble activating their key in Steam?

I got a 15 digit key from GetGamesGo and Steam won't accept it. Using Google, my search results suggest the key should be 20 digits long. Anyone else have trouble and did you get 15 digit keys?

    • Successfully redeemed a 15 character key.

  • I have no problems activating it. Mine was definitely 15 digits.
