Wow the cheapest that it's ever been from an Australian retailer i think. It just shows not to buy on release day and to hold out for the best deal like this.

I love how cheap it's become already, it's selling like CRAAAAAAAP for a GT game, gee I wonder why?
You know, recycling audio from GT2 (and cars from GT4) - people were sick of it in GT5, let alone in GT6.

Maybe these guys will finally innovate next game.

    EDIT:
"Gran Turismo 6 has been built from the ground up with a whole new game engine to deliver an exceptional playing experience. Featuring up to date physics and incredible graphics, it’s a one of a kind driving experience."

    Bullshit.

Kinda sad, the name used to really mean quality a long while back

      So what you're saying is buy GT6 if you don't have GT2, GT3, GT4, GT5?

Well that's good news for me as I don't have any GT games.

Now I need to find another item to buy valued more than $76 to get Amex $30 credit back:)

      • buy 3 copies and sell 2.

        • +1

They'll probably be worth $20 by then.

          Plan = fail.

      • Well if you've never played a GT game, you'll probably like it.
Forza is the superior product, which sucks because I have no interest in an Xbox 360 or One :/ (Well ok Forza 5 is crap but besides that)

        • I have had the opportunity to play Forza on the Xbox One and I love it! To me, that controller feels much more comfortable than the PS3 unit. I have played GT5 on a mates PS3 before and after a while hands start to cramp, rage builds.

I might look at other things to spend my money on then. Thanks for your feedback all.

        • For someone new to Forza, which is the pick?

        • imho forza 4, better than gt5 and gt 6. i have them all. better physics engine.

      • Buy a portable hard drive, some 32gb USB sticks, an $18 cordless phone, a $77 GPS… etc… I thought it'd be hard too but it all happened so quickly when I walked into Harvey Norman the other day.

      • +1

I wouldn't recommend buying it. I hate the fact u have to spend a tonne of hours just to unlock the online gameplay.

        • -1

So true. I'd only play it on the occasions when I can't actually drive my beast around!

        • Well i pity those who paid like $80 on release day. Wait a month or two and you could have got it for $44 sort of thing.

    • I thought I heard that the car roster had been significantly decreased from the previous game so that they could sell more as DLC.

Is that true? I'm not really into racing games anyway.

  • whats the cheapest price atm for an imported copy?

    • +1

There's $49.99 delivered from ozgameshop.com but still HN has it for $44 which is $5.99 less. Even if you had the Ozgameshop $5 bonus credit still that's 99c cheaper from HN and you'd get it a lot quicker too since you pick it up off the shelf from the local HN store or select store pickup.

        thanks

saw this " Gran Turismo 7 for PS4 could launch in 2014", may wait…

  • Its cheap because it not as appealing as any of the other GT series. Its actually quite boring, driving is good although its lost its appeal. I hardly play it anymore and I bought on release

  • Should have been delayed and released on PS4. I know they usually release two GT's per console, but releasing this a week or two after the PS4 launch was just leaving it out to dry.
Still, this is a really good price for a game that's just over a month old.

you can actually wait a bit longer until they release the sound package update

i cant stand how they sound in GT5

bought from broadway, finally used my last $10 giftcard purchased from the WELCOME5 offer.

    thanks op

  • I rate the game highly… ive recently started playing it with the logitech wheel. big improvement from GT5. each car has its own specific feel. the career is enjoyable and diverse.

  • +2

No huge urge to play. Will wait until its price drops to around $25.

until driveclub comes out theres no reason to

forza 5 seems to be a pile of crap as far as microtransactions go

    • Driveclub isn't a racing sim. And both forza and gt6 have microtransactions

      • Difference in execution is night/day. One game actively reminds you to buy coins whilst the other hides it under a specific menu in a menu, one could forget they existed if you never ventured in there.

        • GT6 has a car one can buy in a micro transaction for $196. Yes, $196 real dollars. That's US too, so it's likely more for AUS customers. Absolute joke. Whilst obviously not a necessary or required purchase, I'd love to know how they can justify that price.

        • That's probably the price that they have to charge to recoup any money spent developing the DLC.. coz no ones buying it.. lol..

That said, I don't know.. I can only hope that no one buys DLC as encourages developers to produce a shell of a base game and more DLC.. Two bites of the same cherry, so to speak..

  • Hope to see GTA 5 @ that price.

  • This is so laggy, the amount of stuttering is just amazing. Maybe they should have released it with 720p as the ps3 is struggling to play 1080p.

This was given to me for xmas and while I didn't pay for it, I still feel ripped off.

    • +1

I don't find it laggy at all, if anything its smoother than gt5

      • are you playing in AC? I suspect heat may be causing the issue. When I do a championship towards the last races it gets worse

        • Maybe you don't have much space left on hdd?, I know mine does crash after updates, there is a way around it though

        • Double checked, its mainly on Bathurst, its basically unplayable up the top of the mountain. It does it on other tracks but on Bathurst its the most notable.

I have heaps of space left, probably over 300gb

        • Weird bathurst is fine for me. i have heard the install can be corrupt. Mine was initially it crashed my machine a couple of times on install.

        • Yea 1.03 was crashing on update

Had a quick look, seems mostly cockpit/bonnet views are more effected and its been documented here

          http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/things-in-gt6-you-want…

    • Shipping makes it more expensive than the HN deal if you pick it up from in store.

    • In any case it's sold out.

  • Price matched at JB - handy if you've got a giftcard.

  • Gran Turismo 6 PS3 $39.98 delivered from Dick Smith. Harvey Norman's price has already been beaten.
