are they made in japan or just 'imported from japan'

    • "All of the kimono, fabrics and obi found on this site are fully imported direct from Japan." - found it on their About Us page

I think you didn't understand the question.

    • Designed in Japan, made in China ;)

  • "Almost all of our fabric is in very good or excellent condition. However, some fabric may contain stains/marks or small imperfections that need to be worked around. If this is the case, these stains/marks will be noted in the product description."

Just something to be aware of.

  • Note that if you're ever over in Japan its relatively easy to buy second-hand kimonos and yukatas for a pittance, which is what I presume these guys are doing when they sell them on over here at far higher prices. Good business idea (although a relatively niche product).

Thanks guys. Yes, all items are made in Japan and imported direct from Osaka and Kyoto on the West coast of Japan. The kimono, haori, obi and some of the fabrics are vintage, so second hand. But many of them have never been worn before. We buy from a kimono manufacturer that has been around for many many years and a lot of their stock was pre-made for stores. Hope this answers some of your questions. Thanks again for the interest.
