LOL @ the language on the screen.

I bought one of these cheapy generic GPS a year or so ago. They're ok - most of em run Win CE 4.2 or 5.0 with some sort of hacked version of one of the popular GPS software packages. (EDIT: Just saw the specs…this one is running CE5.0). Mine came with Route66 v7. I managed to hack it and get iGO 2008 running on it which is a lot better.

The GPS signal very rarely drops out but it wouldn't be as reliable as a brand name one which IMO, never seem to drop out (seen Tom Toms, Navmans, Garmins & Mios).

With mine, the music function is useless…use an iPod instead (via AUX in for me). Mine is only a 4.3" screen so the video function is also useless. The picture viewer is useless. The bluetooth for connecting to the phone is ok but useless because you need to manually connect to it everytime. And the AV in port? Why would you want to record something onto it? As it mentions, it'd be only good for a rear view camera but I reckon it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

This unit may be different but I doubt it.

Buyer beware…you get what you pay for.

Not voting +ve or -ve as the price is ok but it's a little risky.

  • They seem to be sold out on the site?
