Even at the RRP it's a bargain for 32TB of CF cards, at $130 it's an absolute steal…………………….oh wait..

    • At that price I would have bought enough to construct a house out of them.

  • I got one of these and they are a great card. The reason it is so pricey is that it is (as advertised) a 150mb/s card. If you have a camera with a high megapixel count and a quick burst speed these would be worth it.

  • I used a Transcend 400x 32gb CF card in my 5D Mark II and was never left waiting even shooting continuous AI Servo sequences. Is 1000x really necessary?

    • With the newer cameras (got a D800 - 36 megapixels and also shooting raw) this makes a difference I find :)

Also interested to see what the Nikon D4S has in store!

edit: but it really depends if you need that speed or not, if you're happy with what you have, then no real reason to upgrade

    For a minute I've read it as 1000 x 32gb for 130$

That's what I kept thinking.. in fact, I'm still reading it that way. Argh.

    • same here

  • 1000x cards are generally used for RAW video recording in the 50D/5D2/5D3, anything slower results in too many dropped frames.

Having said that, 32gb is really not large enough for any serious RAW video recording.

    • True. My videographer for my wedding was using 5D Mark IIIs and gave me over 200gb in RAW footage.

      • Your wedding was only half an hour? :)

        RAW 1080p from a 5D3 is about 4MB per frame, which is 100MB/s. 200GB is 204,800MB, which is 2048 seconds, or 34min.

He probably meant raw footage rather than RAW footage. That would mean it's just the unedited H.264 footage. 200GB sounds about right for a wedding then.

  • Even the 800x is quite tasty at $74…

I'm seriously considering buying 2x 128gb cards.. which is $63.50/32gb..

Last airshow I took 18k+ photos in the space of 2 days.. :)

    • I also did that and somewhat regret it, I have a 128gb SD card and I was thinking about what if it fails, I'd rather have a bunch of 32gb's and swap them out when I need to :)

    • 18k …. how long did you take to go through them all??

  • I've been using a couple of these cards for the past year on a 5D3, absolutely no problems.

  • Got a couple of the 32GB cards for my D800 and they are vastly faster than the Sandisk Extreme Pro SD cards.

  • any recommendation for the card reader that will leverage the UDMA7 ?

    • I got the Lexar Sd/CF Usb 3.0 reader ath the same time.

  • You sure the Postage is free to Australia?

    • I got an estimated shipping of $7.07 for 1 card ($7.15 for two cards).

116.07 USD = 130.642 AUD according to OANDA's current exchange rate. Actual AUD will then depend on your credit card.

  • I use these cards, they are great. Very reliable especially if you are shooting in burst mode or shooting video.
