Spotted this for $5 at K-Mart Rundle Mall (Adelaide) this arvo. About 20+ left when I popped by around 4pm - 'clearance' section, near the checkouts.

  I have a cuisineart icecream maker in the cupboard that cost about $500. Its been used once, we walk up the road and get gelato its so much easier

This does NOT make ice cream. It makes soft serve. For Sydneysiders if you can find it anywhere it will likely be $19. The shops that reduced it below that have sold out. Some had reduced it as low as $4.50. Here are the details for stores I have called:
Campbelltown - sold out
Minto - $19 a few days ago but maybe you can push them further on price.
Casula - sold out
Bankstown - sold out
Fairfield - sold out, but I am dubious about the staff member's response here.
Burwood - sold out
Eastgardens - sold out
Broadway - sold out

Hope this saves a few phone calls for those people searching.
