    Nice looking BSO.

  • nice looking!

  • For anyone that's been reading the Bike listings on OzB for the last few months….this one has pedals!! LOL at the picture though, those handlebars are set very low, adds a whole new perspective to 'in the drops!'

i think the pedals on my road bike would cost more that this bike !

      • A fool and his money..

  • shipping is nearly as much as the bike lol! no click & collect unfortunately

last time i was in target it was devoid of almost anything bicycle-related. only a couple of kids bikes.

  • It costs $75 for my bike shop to replace one spoke!

    • it cost me $79 to service my $350 hybrid bike

$20 more and you'd have a service on a hyundai!

    • Hmm… wonder what type of bottom bracket this bike has. My LBS wanted to charge me $90 + parts ( ~ $55 ) to replace a cracked bottom bracket on a 1999 Giant MTB.

Got this for under $120 click & collect (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/98888). It is still alive after some 9 months and mainly weekend use. Definitely a 'bike like object' but for the price amazing. Light compared to the cheap mountain bikes out there. Haven't weighed it, but would say it's definitely less than 15kg. Only issues were using a special adjusting tool (hammer) to fit the wheel, and a flat tire within a week or so due to missing tape inside the wheel allowing the tube to rub on the spoke ends. The handles are low so maybe I might replace that if I can be bothered…. probably won't as only an issue when braking and who does that anyhow as that's a sign of weakness. ;-) Don't care about the gear lever location as I used to have an old bike with them there….

Overall, don't regret the purchase. If doing more than the odd weekend ride I'd probably fork out a few more bucks for something a little better.

Oh, for what it's worth I'm 1.9M ie 6'3". The bike fits me just fine, although I would prefer a less 'aggressive' stance.

  • I also bought last time it was on sale just to see if I liked the feel of a road BSO. Reasonable for the price, but I found it small for me (I'm 184cm, or 6', so I'm surprised PlasticSpaceman found that it fit him. That said, Mr Spaceman appears to use it for weekend use, whereas I'm riding about 100km - 150km per week).

Upgraded last year to a 2012 Merida Race Lite 105 that I picked up off Gumtree for $750 and haven't looked back :D

    • Got it in one. I don't ride a lot, so although I don't look like a gorilla riding a tricycle the bike is definitely not perfect for me….. if the handles were higher that would help, and if I could be bothered I'd look at moving the brakes etc to make it a little more ergonomic, but it basically 'fits me fine' for a weekend rider. I would not do a tenth what you do - if I was doing that much I would definitely be looking at either making some changes to the bike or, more likely, would have spent a few more dollars on something else. Getting a second hand one from a bike nut who has to have the latest is a good idea.

  • On the Central Coast and wanted a new road bike to get back into shape. My mountain bike has rust on the handle bars from not being used.

Despite Erina Fair and Tuggerah being sold out I was able to get a Rain Check at Erina for it. So YEPPI!!!

  • Howdy All
Please anyone want to learn how to service their bikes or change a spoke pm me.
    That's for Melbourne
