I believe 433MHz is legal up until 25mW without a permit. After that a permit of some form is required.

The 313 and 858 MHz frequencies are illegal in Aus, 433MHz is widely adopted in Aus for many low powered wireless control devices such as wireless switches, remotes and short range telemetry.
I wonder how Customs confirms the power level is OK?

As stated above not illegal based on power … otherwise a lot of people with garages are breaking the law
