Nintendo 3DS XL Console Bundle with 2 Professor Layton 3DS Games for $268 @ JB HIFI

220

Hi all,
Managed to grab this deal (twice) on Christmas Eve at JB Hifi Elizabeth, SA. Comes with 3DS XL console, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

I asked for two 3DS XL bundles and the guy said they have this deal going, thought it was pretty good considering the value separately is roughly:
- $238 for the 3DS XL
- $59 for each game (according to their website http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/3ds/professor-layton-and… and http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/3ds/professor-layton-and…)

Or $356 if purchased individually

Also, the newer Professor Layton game is eligible for the free Super Mario 3D Land download.

  • Seems like a good price… wonder if they will lower the price for just the 3DS XL or if i can change the game to pokemon X or Y…

    • Tried changing the games (as I bough two bundles) but they wouldn't let me. You can sell the games easily for $40-$45 each.

      • Ah well… still a great deal but if i can't change the games i'll probably skip on it… only games i wanted was pokemon and may ocarine of time lol…

        • Yep, I ended up paying about $190 (after I sold the games) for a 3DS XL with Super Mario 3D Land.

        • Yeah same here

        • How long did it take you to sell the games?
Would like to have a 3dsxl with a digital mario 3d land for $190 too.
          Thanks

        • Within a couple of days on eBay

        • -1

Did you sell the game as brand new?
Can you claim the game on ebay as brand new when you actually opened the game to get the Nintendo Club card to claim the Super Mario 3D Land game?

        • Where did it say he opened the games?

        • +1

I bought two bundles and sold two I don't need. So yes, they were brand new and unused.

        • I dont know why you are downvoting. If the game has been opened and you have taken the club nintendo card out (which is what you use to get the free digital mario game), it isnt new. It's used.

        • @RI4V4N, OP bought two bundles, sold 2 games from 1 bundle on Ebay as brand new unopened.

      • If anyone buys this and doesn't want the games. I'll buy both games off you if you can post them to me for $80 :)

  • Great deal since you can redeem for the Mario 3DS game too.

  • +1

This is not an official deal made available by JB HiFi.

  • Has anyone else actually gotten this deal? I'd particularly like to know if it's going to be honored in WA.

    • Me too!

    • I saw it advertised a few days ago in store at Cannington JB Hi-Fi.

      • OooOOooOOooo

        Now we are talking.

      • I just called that store just now, they said they don't have the games still in stock and the special has ended.

  • I can confirm this deal works in other stores (at least at Eastlands/Rosny Park near Hobart). I grabbed this on 17/12 and was advertised as something like "3DS Hot Offer #4". I thought the deal was reasonable and got to choose the console's colour which should be fairly standard but I've seen some weird practices. Can also confirm it worked to get the free SM3DL download.

To anyone thinking if the games can be swapped, it may be possible as they just grabbed copies of each game from the shelf and a console from the back.

  • I will buy the Arran legacy if anyone is selling :)

  • God dam. Very nice deal. Those are two fantastic games.

  • got the deal today but wife knows the sales guy. look forward to playing it when my son goes to bed.

  • Has anyone managed to get this in QLD? Is this a specific deal or one of those that is under the discretion of the store?

    • This deal is still on albeit not advertised - I had to ask. Seems to be national as the games manager here in Perth said it had been set by Nintendo.
