Next cheapest I know of is $468 at Harvey Norman. $397 is a sharp price.

Whoa fantastic price…. And fantastic tablet too. Super light and you can pretty much take it anywhere with you as it's water and dust resistant. Battery life could be better but it's no slouch. Great find op.

  • Really nice tablet, great price. Just be aware that Sony will be completely leaving you for dead with respect to software upgrades before too long, based on their track record.

    • My Xperia Tablet S is still stuck on 4.1.x and it's only like a year old :(

    • Sony just released the 4.3 update for the LTE model unsure about wifi only model

  • Any idea if this sale is across Australia?

    • Just enquired in Melbourne Sony Centre - 16GB Sold out, left with only 32GB @ $579.

Hmmm if this had been available on/before 24th Dec, you could also have claimed free Sony headphones worth $69 - ahh well.

However you should still be in the draw for a Playstation 4 (till 31st Dec)

  • That is a good price. Just got mine from shipping express or 399+ shipping so this is better!

    • actually yours was better, for the sole reason was it was open to everyone not just people in the area of sony centre stores (unless im missing that they have a online store???)
ive tried getting JBhifi to price match they say nope no chance they would do it for that price

      • actually they have stock in sealed box, a week ago the shelf was full with Z1s, now almost gone, 1/3 left. Xperia Z tablets around 10 I could see :)

  • How much are the z1 at sony store there?

    • it's $657 or $659 i'm quite bot sure hence put $659, also, you might be able to claim a free wireless speaker which worth $80 or sth (ask in store for more info)

    • anyway, before you decide to buy this model, these are few things need consider: if u after a camcorder/camera with underwater fun, go for it, otherwise, it is not an outstanding phone because - speaker is not loud enough, the origami design quite uncomfortable when hold it on hand(s), colour on the screen is not 'fresh' enough like Samsung and LG's or iPhone (looks not so true and quite pale, probably update of firmware latter on might change), etc. Most importanly Sony phones don't hold their values for a long period (it might devaluate upto 50-80% while iPhone devaluate around 30-40% after a year of using). These are just personal experiences and opinion, you should come in any stores to test it out ;)
