  Good buy mate, I've bought one at JB yesterday for $584 lol (Price match with DigiDirect), should have waited. :P

  Have to mention though that I'm quite disappointed with the NFC/Wifi thingy. Why does it require an app to transfer file? What's wrong with just native NFC? Also auto-transfer with my Mac doesn't work as only support 10.8 ( ok ok I should have got a PC).

  Canon EOS M dropped to $399 everywhere as well, but the NEX beats the EOS M hands down anytime..

    IMO The EOS M + 22/2 beats the 5T + 24/1.8 in size and price (half the size, 1/4 price, comparable IQ).

  This is a really great deal. I bought the 5R kit for $500 2 months ago, and it's a great feature packed camera. The only downside is the cluttered menu to navigate, seems forever to find some setting and too much things to remember where and how. I was thinking to sell the camera after my Bali trip but decided to keep it for the fast AF (for kids) and features.

  it doesn't have built in flash like some of the other nex models

  will it be a problem shooting indoors and low light settings?

    It comes with a flash in the box. It's an external flash.

    This is a different camera, in stock, for $450 less. You can't compare and say it's not a good deal. It's only a bad deal if you can find the same item he's listed, for cheaper, elsewhere.

      Take away the price of the other two lenses (which 5T user will probably want) and you have a much better and cheaper camera than this one. Also, it is still available, just on back order. I did not neg the deal, just voice my opinion. Take it or leave it. There is no need to neg people just because you don't agree.

  I played with nex 6 as well but liked next 5 better. It's really a personal preference.

  Nex 5 is this years model. Nex 6 was released over a year ago. Sensor size is same, speed is same. Nex 5 has NFC, WiFi etc. I'm sure nex 6 is better but 5 sounded better to me.

  I got a call from teds this morning. They didn't have camera at cbd store so I am gonna pick it up from another store. But was really happy with their service.

  Edit: I am buying the telephoto lens off someone on eBay. Hopefully it will be under $200. Otherwise I will regret not buying the twin lens kit.

    If you do not care about a viewfinder, sure, get the nex5. To me, that is a main criteria.
