Should really add software to the title haha!

    • thanks for your remind

        • VLC has issues with hardware, especially if you're using a TV. Standalone programs do a much better job as they are optimized for all monitors/TV's.

        • Does vlc do blurays or do you need plugins?

I think VLC is pretty shit emulating a remote on a DVD let alone a BLURAY.

        • @Dagmar
Can you please back up your blanket statement with some examples?

          @wouldntyaliketoknow
It plays unencrypted Blu-rays natively, however a plugin is needed for encrypted blu-rays.

        • Err… first hand experience. DVD's even freeze for a few seconds after having it paused for a minute. I bought TotalMedia Theatre which has been nothing but amazing.

And the fact that the Rep posted underneath that the program removes region restrictions and encryptions, I believe you should stop trying to argue your point. You asked what it does better than VLC? You don't need to download extra plugins. The title has been changed, so suck it up and enjoy some free software.

        • Hadn't been to that site for a while, still no update since April 2012 :(

        • @Dagmar

The title has been changed, so suck it up and enjoy some free software.

My previous comment was directed at YOU and it has absolutely nothing to do with Leawo software or anything that the rep has posted here. Please don't make this into something it clearly is not.

I was asking YOU for clarification on the blanket statement that you threw out there. If you have something to say, say it clearly.

Anyway, your DVD freeze problem is most likely a caching issue. You can adjust the value in settings.

Came in here thinking I was getting another Bluray player for free. Please don't give me a heart attack :D

Thanks for the free software! Anybody here use this before?

    • Really sorry for causing the misunderstanding.

    Misleading. Blu-ray Player SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does this offer that VLC doesn't already do better?

    • For example, play copy protected Blu-ray and DVD movies; play Blu-ray and DVD disc movies of all region codes.

      • Can it do 3D blu ray?

        • doesn't play 3D blu ray. just tested.

        • Can't play 3D Blu-ray now, but will add this feature soon.

    wtf is this?

A license for simple media playing software probably laden with spyware.

    gtfo

    • never used it can you confirm the spyware.

    Misleading title.

    • I have added software into the title. Before you posted.

      • You should also add that it's a free 1 year license. Not free software.

        • I think I have already explained that under the description. Thanks.

    • +2

I think we have already established that. :)

Seriously who down votes a free product. It's title is technically correct. 1 up vote you will get from me :)

  • FREEBIES!

  • Can't say i've seen any other player that uses a yearly license model.

  • Thanks, it works!

  • @rep
Not working well on win 7 ultimate. all bluerays start playing at about 1/4 speed I have adjusted the settings to various combos of accelleration auto off time sychs etc but just doesn't happen for me.
Total media plays fine and is my preferred choice, but I always like a second program as a backup one.

    Any hints?

    • Might seem a step backwards, but turn Hardware Acceleration off completely.

      • Hi Merry Christmas!
Thanks for your advice but I have already tried with hardware accel off no change, and have worn out all available combinations of settings to try and solve it.

I have a system with SSD's and decent pagefiles, clear caches prior to re testing after setting changes. Just seems to hate Win 7 LOL

Several other blu-ray players work fine without this odd behaviour, while I appreciate the software is free and I'm not losing anything but my time. I guess I'll just have to uninstall and get on with life.:)
