    Another "clearance"!

edit: I'm keen to knock some of their staff out after their gaming clearance

    60PN6500 LG 60" Plasma for $978

  • 60" LG Plasma under $1000? Sounds good. Is it any good?
EDIT: Seems to be good for the price according to http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2109167
EDIT: Looks like burn in may be an issue. No Wifi or LAN port. No Smart Features at all. http://answers.lg.com/answers/7676/product/MD05028681/lg-ele… I'm giving it a miss.

    • You can always add smart features in future through a home theatre system of hdd drive with smart inbuilt:)

      • I just want something that can run a PLEX Client :)

Add a Chrome Cast to it then?

they will call you afterwards and say they don't have stock and give you a voucher instead.

  • That sub $1000 60 inch tv looks sweet. Super tempting.

  • I'm trying to buy a few items but after adding to cart the prices aren't discounted, something wrong ?

    • Starts at 9pm.

Good Guys are a pack of ****s. Mum bought a portable air conditioner 5 days ago. We have tried to return it 3 times as it doesn't cool a 12 square metre room (it is advertised to cool a 20 square metre room). The manager (Albury Store) basically told me to get stuffed the last time I tried to return it.

Australian Consumer Law buddy, go back there and don't take no for an answer.

Good guys r very dodgy on return.
I would almostcallthem the bad guys.
Easiest way is to conptact bank ad get payment reversed.
If u paid by cash - perhaps thats why theylike cash soirs harder to do returns! - then u need to contact head office / consumer affairs.

      Hadsame problem withbeighton good guys.
Stereo stuffed up after 3 months. Got runaround.
      Wouldnt shop there again

Just lodged a complaint with NSW Department of Fair Trading. Mum paid on her Savings account so hopefully contacting the bank will do something then. Thanks for the information guys.

Anyone have any more info that might be useful for me?

      • +1

For future reference, you should pay for everything with a credit card. It is a lot easier for banks to take the money back, very easy in fact.

        Good luck.

    • What did they say the first 2 times you tried to return it, that you had to go back a 3rd time ?

Consumer law is clear, if the item is not suitable for its advertised purpose, you can return it for a full refund.

Personally I have always found my local GG to be really good to deal with - they have priced matched competitors, honored their 30 day price beat policy when I find an item cheaper after I've bought it, and recently they arranged a full refund of my mothers washing machine a year after it was purchased (it had a manufacturing fault).

That said… no-one is perfect all the time… maybe your local manager was having a bad day… or in real need of a hug.

      • The first 2 times they tested it in the store and said it is in fact working and that we were expecting too much from it. They plugged it in in the store and checked that cold air came out the front and hot air came out the back; this constituted a check to make sure it worked 100%. Today I offered to have the owner come to my house to see that it definitely does not work and he refused. He told me it was crazy to think that the air conditioner would make a difference on a hot day and that it isn't designed to work in that environment…. yeah, ridiculous.

        • what an idiot

  • **** SORRY, Missed reply button ******

  • Samsung HT-F5550W is showing $499 on GG website (deal starts 9pm, sorry). But JB has it for $348 already.
I am looking for a decent ($200-$400) home theatre setup with my new TV, need wireless rear speakers. Is this a good choice?

    • and HN has it for $347.

      • yeah i am looking to buy the same. dont know how good these are.

I just looked at the gift voucher that was given to me after TGG miserable fail of a gaming sale, at it was valid for only 1 week! They couldn't even get that right. Going to see if I can bitch on the phone to get it renewed/extended because I actually want to spend some money but it's just looking too hard to spend it at TGG.

Good luck I called them two days in a row about a voucher that said expired on the website but was still valid

Customer service told me to call the "webmaster" have emailed them twice and can't when I call as the line is always "busy"

Pretty much thinking of giving up. Will not be shopping at the Bad Guys again. If the voucher does end up being successful I will buy only up to the amount of the voucher - they arn't getting any more of my money :)

    • How do you know it was only valid for one week? Mine says it expires on the 15/12/2014. Or do the vouchers just stop working regardless of the date written :S I'm even scared to test them online.

      • I-I oh how do I say this? I can't read. Disregard all of the above.I'll just leave.

        • Wait, so does your voucher work? I'm curious as well, some people have said their vouchers didn't work when they tried using it. Hope this isn't the case for everyone, I really hate calling up their customer service to get things sorted out :(
