I reckon for the extra $30 its better to get the same kit but with one of the batteries being the new 4Ah pack. Also the second small 1.5Ah cell is the better silver version with power meter and better cells than these el-cheapo black liion packs.

Its been $199 since it came out and the 4Ah pack really kicks arse. Well worth the extra $30. Especially if you want to use the one+ garden tools.

Technically I would neg this deal but maybe the earth could add this kit to the deal post as a better bang for buck option.

      • But on the page it didn't show it with 100 pc accessories included.

I guess so, but the 100 accessories will be the same quality as the ones you get for 10 for $1 at your local dollar shop. And don't under estimate how good the 4Ah pack is compared to these budget ones, its awesome.

      • Cheers I will have a look at both in store and decide then.

  • Awesome! Thanks OP.
    This looks good too… http://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-8-piece-combo-kit_p…

Only thing that annoys me about the multi-use batteries is that the stuff they sell without a battery isn't that much cheaper. So really the only benefit is the convenience of not having 5 chargers rather than saving money. This is a great deal though, I think its normally $200 without the extra accessories.

    • True. What I do is add to my tool collection when I need a new battery so my old tools have fresh batteries to use.

My experience with Ryobi is different. The tools without batteries are cheap.

That drill (without batteries/accessories) is only $70:

And that's not even on special.

May the force be with you

  • A better deal if you can get it to Australia through an agent maybe using SHIPTO?

    http://www.amazon.com/Factory-Reconditioned-Ryobi-Cordless-L…

    • Postage would be like $100

EDIT: Tried it out with Shipito and cheapest is DHL at $145.22

      • still a good deal if you ask me

        • A second hand product with worn batteries from overseas and no easy way to return it…

        • What could possibly go wrong lol

  • With Ryobi One+ batteries, you can re-pack them with bigger amperage cells (LiPo etc from hobby shops) to double the amperage for the Lithium batteries. The reason you can do this is because the Ryobi batteries come with all the safety/electronics in-built in the battery, so its just a matter of swapping the cells around for bigger ones when your battery dies, so never throw out your old batteries!

    • Its not really worth rebuilding anymore vs just buying the new 4Ah pack. It used to be worth doing when 2.6Ah was the best you could get. But the new 4Ah pack is directly comparable to my 4.4Ah lipo rebuild pack in terms of both capacity and current. Not to mention a damn site safer.
